Small note, after much appreciation--

Topic title = "New York Public Library", the name of the place...
the library of New York City, not the state.

Great interview, thanks for sharing. As I observed earlier with the interview for German TV, Keith acts differently than usual, he is much more focussed, doesn't play "the cool Keith," he is more what he really is - an aging man who has been through a lot, has seen a lot and has a lot to say. And with an intelligent host giving intelligent questions, like in this case, the interview can go on and on and on and it is really interesting and pleasure to watch. Thanks

There so many elements to this interview that will make this the most talked about subject on iorr.org. Interview really captures the "Lessons Learned" approach to life.

Of course, we will be randomly talking certain points about life he made throughout the interview.

Point: He never wrote a song alone. He doesn't like to do things alone and relishes the "joy of collaboration."

My Response: Wouldn't we all be more successful if said principles were applied at our jobs?

This is an amazing interview, which needs to be further discussed!

Point: Keith dated Ronnie Spector.

My Response:
I can envision it happening in the 80s?

Reference Video 3.

Any statements/responses PLEASE reference video number. thanks

I thought Keith was with Ronnie early 60's, somehow he ended up with her in Long Island NY is what I heard.

Schillid!

The interview shows a Keith Richards quite coherent, articulate and on point with his thoughts and responses. It's amazing the parallels I saw between him and a famous person I know.

In clip 3, he really showed his hand. Things like switching beats / rhythms on stage and watching Mick for the unexpected. His comments validated what I've seen live and on places like YouTube.

There's something to be said for having the same group of people behind the front man for sure. Continuity in a line up is one helluva thing. Everyone gets pushed and pulled by each other.

Thank you very much and BV did all of us a great service by making your post a sticky.

As someone noted earlier, it's amazing what a set of intelligent questions can bring out, especially from someone Keith knows over the years, who has also read the book.

Keith has to concentrate on the questions to figure out the answers, rather than just giving one of his oft-said, more typical phrases. The lengthy, free-form format seems to give him time to stretch out, without the pressures of broadcast or recorded air time, with its built-in commercials and public service announcements.

I agree. Probably the best interview I've ever seen / heard / read of him.

not bad, I guess, but an awful lot of softballs.

the question about charlie was really a sop to keith's tendency to wax on about him. If bill had been the one to stay in the band, would decurtis have said that on listening to the early records, he's struck by the importance of bill?

as in the other interviews, keith seems not to want to rehash anything that's in the book itself. Decurtis refers often to the text, keith never. Makes you wonder how much the credit for writing it should go to James Fox.

good observation about bill wyman .his outstanding bass playing is still missed by me .not a knock on darryl jones who i like and is a very good bassist.

Part 1 has over 1,500 views, but each of the next three parts only has around 650 views.

People don't care to watch the entire hour. Why is that? I wonder...

It's totally adorable when Theodora yells out, "I love you, Daddy," when Keith gets really awkward realizing he probably shouldn't be saying anything pro-drug in a library interview. Giving him a boost during his awkward moment.

A fantastic interview. My favorite line is when Keith is comparing the Beatles to the Stones, and says that the Stones had one front man, and "he better be good, right ... and he was the best!"
