We all know his musical tastes, his favorite recipes, favorite narcotics etc.. nevertheless this guy is an avid reader, any comments about his books of preference?

We know, from that accident he had in his library, that he was reaching for a book about Leonardo da Vinci.
He's very interrested in war history, and WW II in particular.
He reads A LOT!
And he watches the box a lot. Tennis matches (I'm sure he's going to watch the Australian Open!), The History Channel, National Geographic, lots of news.

The Bible ( "but it bores me to death" )

Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire (several times over, apparently)

Patrick O'Brian's long series of seafaring novels.

A very old Physician's Desk Reference book (from the days when you could buy hard drugs over the chemist's counter). Essential information.

According to Charlie, Keith likes long books - the thicker the better.

I read somewhere that Keef was reading "from dawn to decadence" 1500 to present. by Jacques Barzun. I checked it out from the library and it is a TOME but interesting. I mean. I can't get through it. Its 875 pages long.

Pages 209ff about Keith and his library.

The things you find on Google!

This is part of "A Brief History Lesson With Keith Richards: as seen in The 27s" - the whole cartoon strip is here:

and you can flip through the book (all about those rock stars who died at 27, including Brian of course) here:

looks like fun.

This photo depicts him as a casual reader, unorganized and no real preferences. But then again he is a musician not a collector.

it's interesting that for such a no-BS guy, he generally likes pompous, old-man type of stuff like war histories.

War generally is "no BS."

Keith's an Englishman...not an airhead. You may have heard of the terrible bombing and destruction in England during World War II when Keith was a small child.

When are the scans of what's in Keith's desk drawer coming?

right--I was talking about war books. You may recognize the difference between a book and what it's about.

go to the "military history" section of the bookstore and you'll find the BS heaped high.

Barzun's Dawn to Decadence (not a work of military history) is a box of hot air.
