No, but they stayed overnight in my hometown Turku, Finland, when they played in Pori Yyteri Beach, midsummer 1965.

Here is the clip of them landing into Turku (I was then about minus three old so I was not quite yet around):

This is rather a fun thread...for a change!

Loved CindyC's poster...and so many other good stories..."oh yes, they stayed in Turku, of course..." I would love to visit this town and beach as I have not been outside Helsinki, which I enjoyed so much.

Well enough about me....and now MORE about me. To answer the question.
The Rolling Stones LOVE the town of my birth. Los Angeles. In which we can include The Forum and the Santa Monica Civic which Hairball mentioned. It held 2500 people and during the Sixties and Seventies it was THE place to see great artists on their way up. Everyone from the Stones to Bowie to Lynyrd Skynyrd to Blind Faith to Joe Cocker to Springsteen etc. etc.

Yes, they did. It actually was their very first in Germany: Muenster, 11 September 1965! (By then I was living somewhere else in Germany... but I know somebody on this board who has seen them in 1976 there)

Ah thanks stonesrule. I just took a second look at it and am questioning the authenticy. Massachusetts is spelled incorrectly and I don't believe that field was/is called Lynn H.S. Football Field. I believe it's always been known as Manning Bowl. I decided to look it up and several sources claim the show was actually June 24th 1966.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Southampton, UK, played a few times in the 60s but never since.
Sadly, as I was born in 1980 I wasn't able to attend these shows.

Oh CindyC. It was such a sweet scene you painted. But glad to know the truth. I'm always having to verify things with regard to writing and there is SO much bogus info out there.

In any case, you were BORN, and that's what counts.

Kassel, Germany - I don't think so. Haven't lived there in 40 years though.

...as mentioned before...

TAMI Show, 1964 - Santa Monica, California
a great venue, I wish they would have more concerts and less corporate meetings there.

no but Hendrix played just near by mine in Joeuf which is Michel Platini's birth town. Amazing because it is a very small city in the middle of nowhere

Famously yes at the Hull ABC Theatre. It is the well known colour Pathe News footage which always makes me kind of proud. Too young to see them at the time though

They played in Horsens in 2006. I was first in line. Got the first ticket with an autograph made with the same pen the contract was signed with. And I also got one bag of morning bread (don't ask me why) and A Bigger Bang and the Rain Fall Down single. On the day of the concert I was #4 in line for the show, and had a spot at the front row 3 spots from the center, where Menno was standing (you may know him - big RS fan who fights at Ronnie Wood gigs).
