I believe you must mean, 'spectacular' if I'm understanding your quote!

For a minute I thought it said Canada Dry. Now that's damn good ginger ale!

Ha! I'm drinking one right now. It seems to be a popular drink in Canada, but in the UK we solely use it as a mixer. It's perfectly good on it's own.

Uh-oh, I'm currently in Toronto and actually thought Canada Day was Monday! Lovely weather here at the moment.

Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians, here!

Welcome to Toronto, Al, hope you enjoy your visit.

Not to be competitive, but we use Schweppes for mixer in Canada. Don't want to sully the Canada Dry with impurities like Rye, Bourbon or other whiskies.

Shine A Light - 2006

Ronnie Wood said in an issue of MOJO magazine months later that it was the best show that they have ever played (Vancouver)

That was the first show I ever travelled to, and it was rescheduled after the 2 Shine A Light concerts in NYC. Considering that Mick's father and Ronnie's brother has just died and they were ending a long tour segment, I thought the concert was pretty amazing. Bonnie Raitt was a great addition. Thanks for the video.

You're welcome STG. I was there too. I remember at the time thinking that the band "was on fire" so RW's statement is very valid to my mind. And of course Keith did 3 songs instead of 2. I hope that they will release this performance one day in the near future. 'Midnight Rambler' was when I knew that it was special. The next day the stadium roof buckled in from the snowfall that had started after we had entered the stadium

I was at the BC Place show, too! The roof didn't collapse the next day, it happened a couple months later, due to heavy wind, not snow.
I actually didn't think it was that great of a show, I still like the second night in 89 at BC Place better. I do remember that in the encore of YCAGWYW, Mick was singing the words really fast, faster than the music, which I thought was weird. It was nice to see some video clips on the Biggest Bang DVD. I remember driving back home out in the valley, it was snowing fairly heavy and any vehicle you saw in the ditch was an SUV or 4x4.

That's interesting - because it's Schweppes who produce Canada Dry for the UK market.

Another year, another Canada Day (and Memorial Day too in Nfld). Wishing Canucks everywhere a great day full of beer and fireworks and some really loud Stones tunes!

Well, thank you everybody. Great country. Not without some issues but ... .
The beer's still cold (but, only if'n yer drinking it quickly). Fireworks next. On to music. Would strongly recommend checking out bands beyond Rush, April Wine and others mentioned above (though they're terrific). If you can find either (or both) of Edward Bear's first two albums - Bearings and Eclipse - your ears would be very happy. Very indeed.
Happy Day to all.
Peace

I was there too. It took me 8 hours to drive home to Seattle the next day. Carnage! I saw both days in 1989. After the first one, I told Vernon Reid that the sound had not been too good for. It was better the 2nd day for both bands. Back to Canada day. Kind of a melancholy one for me. My mom was born in Ottawa & died on Canada day.

...yet again! Major weather suckage today, but still a great chance to relax and appreciate everything we have - even if that (so far) only includes one scheduled Stones show.

Happy Canada day - beer and bacon for all!
