Ron Wood in Focus

The German magazine FOCUS no. 8, Feb. 17, 1997, is bringing an interview with Ron Wood on page 192. The interview is done by Michael Fuchs-Gamböck, and is printed with a very small RS group photo, and a bit larger photo of Ronnie, playing in the backyard. The heading of the interview is something like "Some Sort of an Endless Experiment".

Talking about the magic of the blues, and about constantly looking for an answer, still never finding it, Ronnie is asked about touring and playing live. He replies: Financially we have no reason for playing live anymore, but it’s for the magic! With every gig we have to prove ourselves better than the night before!

Focus then ask: How about Mick Jagger, being such an ego, does Mick too seek this magic? Ronnie: "Sure! People often get the wrong impression of Mick! The clever business man is just one side of Mick. The other side is the same as the rest of us, a true rocker! When dining with Mick the other night, he discussed each song of our new album, with the enthusiasm of a 20 years old guy!"

Asked about the new album, Ronnie states it will be out later this year (September as it seems now), and that they have decided to do a new album every 18 months from now on. These days, the Stones is some sort of an endless experiment... That’s great news, folks!
