Chuck Leavell's keyboards are too prominent in the mix, particularly in SFTD. SFTD should be a guitar driven track. Since 89 it is unfortunately a drum sample and piano track. And in general I hate the plink plonk attitude of Chuck. He might be a nice guy like his piano style, but his piano style doesn't fit to the dark and dangerous momentum of the Stones music. E.g. to play on MR a honky tonk p

Quotepaulywaul QuoteRobertJohnson Okay, the point is: We want Mick Taylor on at least more than two songs. New thread, please ... Of course sticky ... Why new thread ? As for sticky, the only place the message theme of this thread ought to be stuck is on Mick Jagger's forehead !! And on Keith's ass ...

The hard rocking version of Memo From Turner is great. First track which comes in mind if I remember Metamorphosis.

Quotewatts fan I'd LOVE to hear them do a bluesy album, recorded on ANALOG gear with minimal overdubs, produced by someone like Rick Rubin or Jack White, with Wyman & Taylor participating. Not more to say ... 100% agree!

Almost all guest spots add nothing substantial to the band, Mick Taylor has regularly only one appearance per night ... I'm very disappointed. Let Taylor play on at least four or five songs. He is the only one who adds something substantial to the band.

QuoteMunichhilton QuoteRobertJohnson MT should rejoin the band, should be on stage all the time and on the next album ... What about Ron? His feelings count too...Micky T quit you know...he wasn't persuaded.. I appreciate both in the same way - Ronnie and Mick. They could share the solos, since there are special Ronnie tracks (e.g. all the tracks on Some Girls) and Taylor tracks (e.g. Moonlig

Incredible match, in fact. Although I'm German, I'm always been a fan of the Spanish football paradigm. I've seen the great teams like Brazil 70, Holland and Germany 74, Ajax 71-74 or the great Italian teams. But no team has played football perfectly like Barcelona or the Spanish national team. Thus we are still pupils in Germany, but sometimes the pupil exceeds the teacher ...

That they tried to turn into a pop group in 66 and 67, Their Satanic Majesties Request and partly the big band sound with plink plonk Chuck in the post 89 era.

I saw and heard Johnny last November in the Musiktheater Gelsenkirchen. I was a little disappointed by his guitar playing due to his health problems. The first half of the gig was horrible, bump notes and bad vocals. Then he played a ten minutes version of JJF, it was still great.

Someone said here already a nothing but the blues album with Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman in the line-up. I'm all for it, too. It should be a triple album with a mix of traditionals and own compositions. Further a really stripped down tour like the '78 or '69 tours. No brass, Ian McLagan on the keyboards, no back-up singer. Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman on stage all the time.

Imagine it in soundboard, though it has a pretty good sound quality. Thanks, Kleermaker, for posting. I never heard this fantastic version. This is the best version I ever heard from the 69 tour. An annoying boring James Brown imitation, one of the worst songs ever written by MJ/KR without any sex drive. A previous version of another Peter-Pan-projects by MJ like Superheavy.

I hope a) they realize a new album b) it is blues-rooted c) they invite Mick Taylor to join the band during the studio sessions. Then it might be evident that he joins the band on stage, too.

Since I'm no native speaker I dared only the Dubliners in orginal English - I'm particularly impressed by the last short story in the Dubliners titled The Dead.
