Stay tuned Stones fans. Yves Solande of Paris Match claims to have a copy of Ronnie Wood's Rolling Stones band membership card and insignia patch which was awarded to him my Mick Jagger in early 1981 just prior to thier North American tour. Apparently, Jagger would not let Ronnie backstage until he flashed the membership card and gave the secret handshake...

QuoteGumbootCloggeroo Quoteheadly123 Someone has WAY to much time on there hands to even bother thinking about writing this rubbish Perhaps some people are more clever and articulate and intelligent than others and therefore can write down their thoughts in a quick manner. If that's the case then how much time they have on their hands is irrelevant. There's always going to be some Stones fans

Sources close to the Stones camp say Mick Jagger is holed up in his Paris apartment with L'Wren and avoiding phone calls from Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood. It was reported earlier today in Paris Match that Jagger hates Shirley Watts and is refusing to tour with the Wembley Wammer and his horse loving wife. Jagger's paramour, L'Wren Scott, has been seen burning the urgent faxes from keith R

Anyone else get tting the feeling the individual Stones members don't want to do it anymore. Charlie needs two years off from Ronnie. Keith has got some issues. Mick has issues. Ronnie sure as hell as issues. Wyman does not want to fly and left years ago. Seems to me that without a signed tour contract gueranting money they don't have the desire. I am not knocking them if this is the c

On recent tours Mick has worn all black Nike Air Monarchs. Actually very comfortable cross training sneakers. I had read years back, I think in Rolling Stone Mag, that he often had the stage pair modified by having the bottoms sanded down to be smother so the shoes would glide a little instead of snagging.

Well at tleast the Stones recognize they have to put some kind of word out from time to time and let the fans know what is going on even if nothing is going on. Perhaps it was all the online talk of skipping work, buying plane tickets, etc. that made someone think twice about ignoring the usual speculation. This, of course, makes me think that IF and WHEN they decide to do something they wil

Quotetatters They're gonna be here! No .... wait .... they're gonna be there! This is gonna go on for years, isn't it? Yeah, not a bad way to sell old albums and merchandise is it? Keep the spectre of a surprise show floating in the air for years to come.

Caught the morning broadcast of the Today show in the US. Matt Lauer interviewed Bob costas the sports reporter hosting the TV broadcast for NBC/Universal. At one point they joked about how much they could reveal about London trying to out-do the Beijin opening ceremony. Two thoughts: 1) At the end of the Beijing games Jimmy Page played on the top of a London bus to promote the London g

quote] or maybe, just maybe, someone at a newspaper made it up to generate interest in their own publication. Its pretty hard to 'disprove' 100% something that was a) supposedly secret and b) had already happened. Nothing to see here. Pointless over-analysing it, really. Yeah, good point there, Gazza. Does anyone know if Paris Match is known for this sort of thing? I have not &q

Maybe it was fake all along just to see what would happen and the interest generated? Then again it seems just a little odd that an English Rock band celebrating 50 years that has not played together for 5 would pick France. Nothing against France. It is actually one of my favorite countries to visit and I enjoy my time there and the people, but it seems like a surprise gig would happen in L

Quotebeepee There have been massive gun shootings in countries that ban fireweapon... "guns make us safer" may have proved wrong, but so did "no guns make us safer", ask Breivii's victims. Yes. This is a good point to remember. In terms of self defense does anyone need more than one gun or a gun that can shoot 60 or more bullets in a minute? And how is it possible fo

America is a sexually repressed society based on mythical achievement of status. You can buy guns and ammo, watch insane violence on TV but one ounce of skin or sexual reference gets you an R movie rating. Kill people on screen and it PG or PG 13. This guy was in the theater. He knew that women, children and even babies (why a parent would take their kids is beyond me) and he went out the s

A link to this thread is now on Shidoobee. The one element or thought about all this that sticks with me is that they have to just play or stop this constant rehearsing thing. If they decide not to play (if this is all true about Paris) then I really won't know what to think.

IF they play in Paris on the 29th and Bill is with them I sure hope Mick Taylor is asked to join them for at least a few songs and then the finale. Film the show and release it as it's own concert film and I'll pre-order today!

QuoteStonesTod i'm sooo tired of opening numbers. it's been done to death. let's just start with the next song. Totally agree with this comment. In fact, they should just jump to the third slot and do a slow instrumental jam with no announcement. Just foot lights and a soft glow over the stage that builds as Charlie comes in stronger. Then they can skip the usual middle slots and do some bl

Quotegwen Short translation: The Stones, with maybe Bill Wyman, have been rehearsing in Paris for a few days, in a studio near Porte Maillot. They will decide on tuesday whether they will give a show at the Olympia which is said to be reserved on the 29th. More footage and material for the DVD later this year? Is Mick the only one with an apartment in Paris? And, yes, I know he has a pl

sc uk Travelling was never mentioned to me or stated in my post as a factor. Why only the UK for possible shows? I don't know specifically but one could surmise that if they want Bill to play with them then that would be the reason. There's no way on earth that the Rolling Stones are basing a decision on whether to tour or not (or where they will or wont play) primarily on whether Bill Wyma
