Quotesvt22 QuoteHis Majesty To keep the thread Talor focused... The Rolling Stones with Mick Taylor could easily have continued to be successful well in to the future just like, for example, Pink Floyd did with their distinctive, bluesy lead guiutarist Dave Gilmour. Post of the year! Pity I missed the y in the first sentence!

The point is that they have proven themselves time and time again to be able to adapt to the times with or without changes in 2nd guitarist slot.

You are just stating the obvious. You are missing however that within these era's there were other music styles going on and some that continued past the trends etc and continued to be viable options for success. Also You are missing that the stones adapted to various different styles within these era's as well. Had Brian not been a mess and in to the band there's no reason why they could

I like those ones for some reason... - Some Things Just Stick in Your Mind - Each and Everyday of the Year - I'd Much Rather Be With the Boys - (Walkin' Thru The) Sleepy City Song writing wise I find them better than some of the pop songs which found their way on to stones albums. What To Do on Aftermath for example.

Quotehowled Maybe Brian would have had a Creedence like band with African instruments Maybe some, but according to Alexis Korner he aslo wanted to get back in to saxophone. Your vibe is that these are bad things, but hey ho he died anyway so you don't have to worry about him playing world music.

Quotetriceratops Quotesonomastone we have a decent idea of what it would be like for mick to do stones songs without keith: Mick at his egomaniacal best. Keith's solo output was easier to digest Thing is, this is more together, powerful and dare I say stonesy than the stones themselves are now.

Quotekleermaker The Rolling Stones during their first golden age are an integral part of my youth. I had the age of ten when Satisfaction came out and I loved it immediately. Listened to TSMR when I was 12, knowing the songs by heart. Discovered Aftermath and Between The Buttons later, after Through The Past, Darkly (what a sleeve that album had!) and High Tide, Green Grass. Then all those other

Quotekleermaker QuoteHis Majesty Well some people have indeed expressed pretty much that sentiment, some even wishing he had been kickedbout earlier. Whether he might have left anyway doesn't change that it was really his messed up condition that prompted him being asked to leave. But, again, would Taylorites prefer that Brian had sorted himself out and remained in the band he kick started?

Quotesvt22 QuoteHis Majesty QuoteVT22 QuoteHis Majesty The bands energy is inscreased with many of the guest guitarists. Watch them when John Mayer played with them for example or Keith's solo when Jeff Beck was a guest. I got the impression the Stones were a guest Hmm, but Keith kinda chopped Jeff down with his ace minimalist solo. I love Jeff, but Keith's playing stood out in the m

Quoteseitan Quotebigfrankie too sick (or whatever) to perform at one of the remaining shows, what would happen? 1) Cancel the show stating the real reason 2) Cancel the show with a phony reason 3) MT would fill-in ...Without Charlie, Mick, Keith or Ronnie - there is no Stones. It would be an insult to the fans. Mick Taylor is good guitarist in his era songs but he cannot replace Keith - NE
