I was pleasently surprised by Lady Gaga, I got a bit worried when it looked like she was going to pass out and Mick held her up for a second, then her energy level shot back up... unsettling really.

Thanks to the Stones, last Sunday I was in a snowstorm in Regina Canada, glued to IORR following this amazing gig at the O2 in London and all the comments posted by the IORR tribe. It was an incredible show right down to the final chords of JJF. Thanks again Mick, Keith, Charlie, Ron and the rest of the crew, including Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman for the music. Thanks to BV for making it accessi

QuoteStonesTod we could make "fracking" the word of the day...but first it would have to be an actual word. a pity. coulda been fun. Fracking is a method of extracting oil and natural gas from the ground. It is a dangerous technique and has caused écological damage where it is used. Yeah, lets make fracking the word of the day.

Great song! In the intro at the 1.5 second mark, there is a small distict salute to the classic Soul Survivor riff, but just for à split second. - great guitar work throughout. Another Stones snapshot of the times we live in.

Those bar end shifters look more recent than 70 - 72, but then this is an Italian bike and they are always a little ahead of everyone else when it comes to bicyle components. Mick might be be sitting on an older bike that has been upgraded with those shifters. Bar end shifters like that were getting more common near the late 70's early 80's. My 2 cents, and I may be wrong about the period those t

I've just reviewed some lyrics websites to realize that they all print «by the balls», so I guess I was hearing it right all along, Someone, I long time ago convinced me it was ... by the boards, and that is what I now hear??

In Short and curlies, for a long time I heard, and...She's got me by the balls, when in fact the lyrics say: she's got me by the boards - referring the boards as slang English for the edge of the docks. Either way, it all kinda means the same thing anyway - we get the picture. The Stones never included lyric sheets in the albums in those days.

Keith did the right thing to shut down the interview. This journalist guy Larsson was obviously way off topic and provoking Keith, once he succeded it was time to leave but he did not seem to understand, so Keith had to get a little physical. What else should anyone expect.

This video seems to capture with pictures what Exile on main street was all about in the first place: ie: Deep America. The song remains neavertheless a contemporary effort because of the vocal and lyrics. I quite like it.

Did anyone notice the page of notes by Keith Richards in the latest issue of Rolling Stone? Not quite certain that those are real notes but of the magazines 40 reasons to get excited about music, REASON 20 is that Keith Richards has written an autobiography! After the Exile reissue, a lot of us will be waiting for this.

I paid 20 dollars canadian for the DVD I think it is part of a series, one other band being covered (can't remember which one) There is no indication there will be a sequel for the Rolling Stones ie 1967-1971, 1972-1978 etc...

I suppose everthing is relative "rare" for one might not be rare for someone else. There is not too much rare footage really - but it was the first time I saw the Red Skelton introduction of the Stones - and then there is all the blury out of focus footage that gives the impression of being rarely seen stuff. In fact what I liked about the film was the discussion and first hand comments

I was at WalMart yesterday and found a DVD called THE ROLLING STONES UNDER REVIEW 1962 - 1966 \ An Independant Critical Analysis. This 90 minute history of the Stones first 4 years is very well done. It features interviews with Chris Welch - music jounalist, Keith Altham - NME editor, Tom Keylock - Bodygard for the Stones, Dick Taylor and others. The DVD features some rare footage of the young ba

I just put all the live albums (except GOT LIVE IF YOU WANT IT) in my ipod and hit shuffle, makes for one hell of a setlist! adding a few gems from various boots and selected audio tracks from the DVD's (example: Learning the game from the Auston DVD or Who do you Love from the Voodoo Lounge tour etc) makes it even better!

I was listening to Sirius Satelite Radio yesterday and they played DA DOO RUN RUN, originally released by the Crystals, apparently covered by the Rolling Stones. I had never heard this version before. It is performed majestically in true Rolling Stones fashion, dark and introspective, a remarkable rendition of this simple song. Il found out that it was recorded in september of 1964 and released o

Regina was Queen Victoria's middle name, she was the Quenne when the city was founded and named. The original name of the first site of the city was PILE OF BONES, (Massive piles of bison bones were collected here to be shipped by rail to eastern Canada to be used as fertilizer.)
