QuoteSundanceKid Quotesvt22 Once again,I'm talking about music, that's what's Mick is all about. If you know the truth, why bother? That guitar issue is if minor importance to me, let alone the domain story. Maybe I should remind you what you wrote only an hour ago, so you can see for yourself that your claim can not possibly pertain to music ? These are your words: "As far as I unders

QuoteJohnnyBGoode Should I do a "The show in videos thread" and a "setlist thread?" Just kidding! Why "just kidding"? Jeeeez, these guys are great! Jagger should go on tour using them as backing band, honestly...and if he's out of breath, their singer could replace him for a couple of numbers here and there and the audience would not even notice it. Honestly

Their "one last great album" was Tattoo You - it's the Stones' "Let It Be" - recorded mainly around/before Some Girls ("Abbey Road" in the Beatles' case), but finished and released afterwards. Everything ever since were "one too many". Still some nice songs on them, but no more classics. Repetitions of a winning formula. As a standalone, the Some Girl

Quotemtaylor Meanwhile, former bassist Bill Wyman says the Stones have “tons” of unreleased material in studios around the world. Read more: Will this ever be released and when has Bill Wyman mentioned this? Is this Wyman recent talk and will this be a future project? Bill Wyman may be unpleasantly surprised when he finds out that many studios don't exist anymore, which does not

Quotemarianna The problem is the weavers no longer weave. Ron Wood isn't playing too badly, but Keith is all over the place. Charlie's skills seem to have diminished, too, and I'm not sure that's related to the guitars or not. I've heard clips of Charlie sitting in with bands besides the Stones in the past few years, such as jazz outfits, and he doesn't sound too good on them. He was a solid time

QuoteVT22 Quotekleermaker [ I don't think it's a matter of practising scales, however useful that might be. Of course he can do better, but then again MR is not the most suited song for fluid, beautiful lines, Taylor's brand. So we can judge that only if he plays on more regular songs instead of on a long jam-like song like MR is nowadays played (not so much a choice of Taylor I guess, but a

Please, no. Not another hyper over-expensive boxset. My flacs are enough. Spending a grand for a physical version will not make the music sound any different.

QuoteVT22 Quotets In my humble opinion- imho for the texters and twitters... the 11 minutes of Mick Taylor are the highlight of the show. A very special guest. Much more than that though the moment loses it's impact. Thanks. My thoughts exactly, plus they never forgave him for leaving imo, and who knows what else is going on behind the veil.. Besides, look at Bill, he only got two songs as wel

QuoteDoxa That's the least inspired "Rambler" so far. Taylor sounds a bit bored (alraedy?), and the chemistry between the guitarists is a bit lost. But anyway - it is always thrilling to hear and watch that number. And something funny always happens... now it almost sounds like the whole song is collapsing when entering the last "fast" part of the blues opera... Charlie loo

QuoteSighunt QuoteGibson668 QuoteJumpinJeppeFlash Great set! People are never satisfied here and i'm very happy they only use MT on one song. He is a guest and nothing more. Looking good for future shows. MT is a guest, but to say he's 'nothing more' doesn't really do justice to the man's contribution to their history..Why would they bring him out at all?..It's to put bums on seats thats why.

QuoteGravityBoy QuoteTheBlockbusterToo slow for me. If you compare the 2012/13 versions of this song with the hi-energy licks-tour versions you may wonder what happended to this band. The studio version is 126 bpm. The echoplex version is 126 bpm. Too slow? It's not "too slow". The problem is that is does not swing. It sounds like ramshackle mess. But, hey, it's a rehearsal gi

I think one should understand that Taylor being back has nothing to do with music or any artistic gains. He is just used for selling tickets, for making older, retired fans part with their money once again. Huge money, that is. This may sound harsh, but it's the truth. At this point in time, it's all about business.

QuoteJumpinJackOLantern Quoteowlbynite Still marvel at the number of Stones hits that back date to Brian Jones' productive days with them.... I think they delivered throughout their career, right through Bridges. Bridges has three of the greatest Stones songs ever on it. ("Saint", Control, and Thief." The two new songs are very good and they spit them out with very little effort.

Quotevudicus Quotedph Good summary of the '71 tour recordings. Too bad more haven't surfaced. Just curious why you want "Let It Rock" from a bootleg source when it's available officially, in stereo no less. I just want the whole thing from the same master source. It would sound a bit jarring to have the whole thing in mono only to have the last song change to stereo, or even m

I hate the demise of the high street but I know I've played my part in it. If HMV goes I'll miss it as I do woolworths, books etc and Virgin but how often did I shop in them? It's all too natural. A true guitar hero - at least for me. Instantly recognizable style. Incredible stage presence. Do yourself a favour and check out his Rockpalast gig from the late 70's with his Solid Senders, currently downloadable on HungerCity. His version of Dylan's Highway 61 there is stunning beyond words - simply a killer performance. All the best from me, Wilko.
