There is a funny train-wreck in the nineties when the one half of the band played IORR and the other Star, Star ... or so, incredible ... they didn't notice that and played the mess until the end of the track. There is a nice boot, too, called "13 Nervous Breakdowns": containing nothing than nice train wrecks, a highlight for Stones fans.

I wouldn't distinguish between a more "regular" and a more improvised style. It is rather a matter of musical ability, technical skills and the willingness to do something unconventional. The last point I miss on Keith's and Ronnie's side on this tour (and on the tours of the last 25 years) apart from the limited technical skills of both regular guitarists. What a difference if you hear

I would prefer a "Mick-Taylor-and-his-old-mates-in-the-backyard"-CD containing all tracks of this tour with MT.

Really smoking.....thanks for posting that clip Without any doubt not his best effort on this tour, there are some loose ends in the architecture of his solo, but far above any average, some great moments in it in any case.

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteRobertJohnson There were always ups and downs, but I think: The last concert of the genuine Rolling Stones took place in Leeds 1982. After that we're all victims of the Vegas act with the exception of the rare Taylor-spots nowadays. It's just as much Vegas when Taylor joins as well? It's not like the whole band transforms into 1972 again just as soon he set foot on

We should change the item of the thread into "We don't want any song without Mick Taylor". Why on earth do we only hear his rhythm section for the most part?

QuoteWild Slivovitz Taylor is not playing with a Rolling Stones' cover band. He is playing with THE Rolling Stones. As he is a professional musician who is keen on improvising, I think he's perfectly entitled not to reproduce the album's solo (which was improvised itself, as we all know) but to try to play something different. And, to my humble opinion, he pulled out a great, great solo! We indee

A great live album of a great band ... I hope that they will release more material from this era. There is e.g. an (I've forgotten the location) incredible audience version of SFTD lasting about 8 or 9 minutes which is even far above the version on Get Yer Ya Yas Out. Keith and Mick T on the same level. Some mate posted it here few months ago.

Quotelaertisflash Just heard GOMC from Chicago #2, from a clip that has a better sound than the usual. I think the song works very well as opening number. Judging from what i can hear, the guitars are doing really good job. And the crowd seems to be enthousiastic. As for what RobertJohnson says about GOMC (overdabbed or not ?) version from "Love You Live" album: To be honest, i'm not

Quoterollingon QuoteErik_Snow Quoteandrewt QuoteGreen Lady Brilliant! Nevermind some bum notes from Taylor, I think this is brilliant, as well At least for me, Taylor's appearance on this tour has brought new interest in the band - even though it's not musically perfect; I'm eager on every new second when listening to the "Taylor songs" ; and I bet Jagger is too....at least, it lo

Without Mick Taylor we see a tour of nostalgia; a bunch of two old guitar-lads which try to elaborate 10 percent of what they did in the seventies. With Mick Taylor there is a vivid band with creative musical ideas each time he is on stage. And it is not a matter of age. Mick Taylor is in the same age as Ronnie and Keith. It is not a matter of health. Mick Taylor had tremendous health problems in

Mick Taylor wish list beyond the tracks played in LA: Moonlight Mile Sympathy for the Devil Winter Silver Train Hide Your Love Time Waits for No One ... but my favorite szenario would be: Let MT play the entire set rejoining the band and let him play on the next album. This concert is definitely the hour of birth of a three guitar band named The Rolling Stones. Let Mick Taylor play the entire set. His contributions are not confined to the brilliant solo sections but he enriches the band with a more full guitar sound, to say a three guitar weaving on a higher level than before. And, please: We want Mick Taylor as regular member of the band playing on the next al

1. Billy Preston, a virtuoso on keyboards with great influence on the band during the 75/76 tour, his piano work on the medley "If you can't rock me/Get off of my Cloud" is unchallenged. 2. Ian Stewart, the original member of our band with a perfect understanding of Stones music. 3. Ian McLagan, unpretentious, the keyboarder of the mate-band Faces and a great Rock'n Roller. 4.

Chuck Leavell's keyboards are too prominent in the mix, particularly in SFTD. SFTD should be a guitar driven track. Since 89 it is unfortunately a drum sample and piano track. And in general I hate the plink plonk attitude of Chuck. He might be a nice guy like his piano style, but his piano style doesn't fit to the dark and dangerous momentum of the Stones music. E.g. to play on MR a honky tonk p
