Quotelazzzybones Lennear was one of the background singers at the Bangladesh show and has a bit part in Clint Eastwood's Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.Should've shown her ass i I think she did in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. After the Bangladesh show, Leon stated that he originally wanted Mick to join him as a surprise guest, and have him jump over the amps and join him for the JJF finale a

Quotemariano why not .... silver train and dancing with mr D Why not? Well, the one is an overlong, flat-footed remake of All Down The Line. The other, is a bore-- it's never-ending riff is a monotonous junkie turd swirling in a toilet bowl going nowhere but around and around... made even worse by the goofy lyrics....a cartoon version of Sympathy, in the age of Alice Cooper. QuoteRollingFreak Did they say anything about him? You think they would. The Doors are legitimate contemporaries. Kind of. While they shared a few years, the Stones were already legends before the Doors even began.

The entire segment on Rush was really well done, starting with Dave Grohl's induction speech. Lifeson's bit was hilarious, and a brilliant commentary on award ceremonies. Loved it. And I'm not even a Rush fan. It should also be noted that John Mayer's induction speech of Albert King, with his demo of various guitar string-bending styles, was informative and even moving as he descr

A pretty accurate fan-view vision of Taylor can be found on William Stout's cover art for the Welcome to New York bootleg In Ladies and Gents Mick T looked like a choirboy. When you see him, looking looser and more mature in the Ain't Too Proud to Beg video, you have to wonder what kind of stage personality he could have evolved into.

As a Faces fan, it was GREAT to see Rod and Ronnie back together again. But when you see the video, Woody is used as sort of a window dressing addition to Rod's group, and does not come across as the pivotal MVP that he was during Rod's Mercury years.

I think he did a brilliant job. He took on an enormous project, and made a lot of very smart decisions, like using only the voices from current interviews (to keep focus on the subject discussed, and avoid the distraction of "look how old he looks now..." ). I know that a lot of people here were disappointed that it didn't cover recent years, however I thought that was another wis

Quotebuffalo7478 Little Steven (of the E Street Band) is a huge Rascals fan and got them back together. I had never realized how big they were back in their day. God bless Little Steven for doing this. The Rascals were huge. Their music is timeless. They should never be forgotten. Here's the ultra-rare Spanish version of "Groovin"

Quotekish_stoned cause they are still here and playing LIVE while the others left the building long time ago. So by that logic--based on duration-- if you started before them, then you are bigger than the Stones? so.... "Tony Bennett is bigger than the Stones who are bigger than Elvis and the Beatles"

What makes Elvis bigger than the Beatles and the Rolling Stones? He's the first one mentioned in the "No Elvis, Beatles, or Rolling Stones!" line in the Clash song, "1977."

QuoteSilver Dagger Best solo album by a Stone in a long shot. I like it too, but I respectfully disagree... Re: The Now Look Appreciation Thread Posted by: loog droog () Date: March 26, 2012 22:21 Ronnie was already famous and respected in rock circles in '75. (Remember that Keith himself wouldn't become a household word until a few years later ) Playing with the Stones on the TOTA w

I bought the LP when it first came out, and it had no illustrated credits. The insert, which was printed on a separate piece of paper, not the inner sleeve, was included in the UK copy which I found several years later as a cut out. It looks like the track listing on the inner sleeve of Black and Blue, surrounded by Ronnie's cartoons and comments. It really adds to your appreciation of t

A lot of people voice their unhappiness with the sound of the Dirty Work album, and yet at the time it was kind of the norm to try to stay current with the prevailing 80's sound. (see "Dancing in the Dark" by Bruce ) I was just listening to the Everly Brothers box set, and it came to a song that I vaguely recall hearing them perform, mostly on TV shows: "Bowling Green."

It was 39 years ago, so I guess fashions are bound to change. What I find interesting is how animated Mick Taylor is in the clip. Compared to Ladies and Gentlemen, he really came of his shell with the background vocals and movement. Makes me wonder what he would have been like had he stayed on and played on the '75 tour. we probably would have had a live "Time Waits For No One&

Quotetatters The cover of Neil's Rockin' In The Free World might seem like an odd choice, Not really. Neil's "New Mama" was on the 1975 "Stills" album, and "The Loner" was on the "Illegal Stills" record the following year. I'm sure he's done more Young covers since then. Stephen looks healthy, and it's good to see him back in the game.

Give Me Love never really worked for me, partly because that one piano lick seems a little too derivative of Bob Dylan's "I Want You." In the same way a couple of years later, a section of John's "(Just Like) Starting Over" resembled the Beach Boys' "Don't Worry Baby." But the whole "My Sweet Lord"/"He's So Fine" thing I always thought

Last year I pulled that album out for the first time in decades and gave it a spin. I always loved "Don't Let Me Wait Too Long" "Sue Me Sue You Blues" and the the title track, but the one that really jumped out at me was "Be Here Now" I need to pick up the CD of this album.

Shame. Amphitheatre to close, make room for Harry Potter attraction The concert venue is to be demolished to make room for Harry Potter world at Universal Studios. Randy Lewis
