Quotekleermaker QuoteRoss QuoteGreen Lady This freezes at 4:31 for me. Am I the only one? Even does it on the YouTube page. Weird. Here the same, so I dowloaded it. Then everything became visible. Got it! Now it works fine. What a great video!

QuoteGRNRBITW QuoteRoss QuoteGRNRBITW how is the sound? brickwalled? did clearmountain butcher it with edits? If you are referring to the horrible edits on Live Licks no i'm referring the horrible edits on this 2012/2013 live album. the early reports are very discouraging... Ah, so Clearmountain did the edits on this 2012/2013 live album. I see. I beg to differ. I think it made perfect s

QuoteGRNRBITW how is the sound? brickwalled? did clearmountain butcher it with edits? If you are referring to the horrible edits on Live Licks, that wasn't Clearmountain (according to him). IMO, Clearmountain's mix is about the only thing that makes giving Live Licks an occasional spin. I think the dialog below might have even been generated from this board... Ross

IMO Brussels is the best. But, LA Friday may be my favorite because it allowed me to rediscover the '75 tour, which had kind of slipped through the cracks due to the lack of soundboard boots. I was at the Memphis '75 show and remember being quite amazed by Ronnie's performance, but when I listened to LYL I was so disappointed with his playing and just assumed I was caught up in the moment at

To ad a little "on topic" to this thread, Wikipedia has this to say about her album, "Approximately Infinite Universe"... "Mick Jagger dropped into the studio for some sessions. He said he was playing the guitar very loudly with John Lennon. Mick went on to say that Yoko "was really trying to sing properly. She's not screaming, she's really trying to sing."

I always liked this one... John's last sessions, he lays down some wicked guitar! Actually, Yoko just landed her 10th #1 hit on the Billboard Dance Charts. I guess one's perspective is a little different when coked-up or whacked out on ecstacy in a NYC dance club! I find a lot of her more recent stuff quite interesting. Not something for everyday listening, but some pretty ca

QuoteDoomandGloom QuoteMILKYWAY QuoteDoomandGloom One night I watched him explode his nose into a towel, tie it in a knot and toss it into the audience. He winked at me, my kind of rock star. That would have been cool if you had caught that towel, untied it and licked it up. Of course that's what I did. Dickey is my hero.. Oh, OK, now I get it!

Let me know what you think about the March 9 show, Doom. to these ears it comes a lot closer to their peak than the Stones have come to theirs in many years. And I'm not one who complains about the current Stones shows, they are great...but far from their height in the 70's. I agree about the horns on Long Black Veil. Swing and a miss! I like the way The Allmans mix it up with different

QuoteDoomandGloom Quotedadrob the 73 concert is being released separately...the Allmans hate the sound of that record BTW and prefer Tom Dowd stuff all the time. I do love that record even pony boy and jelly jelly These days it's painful to watch the Allmans play silly covers reading from music stands. When I have a complaint about The Stones I look no further than to what was once my other f

I thought the "Lenny Bruce" song was a bit daft when I first heard it, until I read a theory that Lenny Bruce was a metaphor for John Lennon (clued by the "I rode with him in a taxi once" line referring to the famous taxi scene in "Eat The Document" ). I am not sure if that is true, but I liked the song a lot better from that perspective. Of course now that he

Love all 3 of these albums. The one that grew on me the most over the years is "Saved". Sure, it's a little myopic, but damn what a scortchin' gospel album!

I am sure most of my fellow 50-somethings on this board will remember The Cowsills. Pre-Osmond family band that inspired the Partridge Family TV show. After a few hits in the mid to late 60's (including a hilarious take on the title song from "Hair" that sold like 2.5 million) they vanished. What was unique about them was they wrote songs and were all talented musicians, even though t

Quotelmatth8461 Reading through the story, it seems like Justin gave the hamster away three months before it kicked the bucket. Some people have no loyalty to their pets. Michael Jackson soon got shot of Bubbles as soon as he wasn't cute anymore. Lee Michael did the same thing to Emanuel Lewis and Maculley Culkin.
