What makes the Stones so unique is not that their music is that great after the 1970s, but that they just stayed together. No other group can make that claim and I guess that explains a lot of their popularity.

Groovin' was a huge hit for them. Surprised it never hit in England.

For goodness sake, I always thought the Stone's original BB album cover was a rip off of the Beatles Butcher Boy album cover. And neither of those two covers were very good. My guess is the Stones were trying to manufacture the same buzz that the Beatles got from their "naughty" album cover, with no intent on really releasing it. The sticky fingers cover with the original zipper w

Quoteloog droog The Spoonful's 1967 post-Zally album, "Everything Playing" (although Zally appears on "Six O' Clock" ) was a mixed bag, an attempt to try an expansion of styles and songwriting duties. It didn't really gel. If the Spoonful had made it into the FM underground/post-Monterey era, which they helped set the stage for (that is, if the bust--which they got a bad r

I have no problem with you posting videos of the Classics IV, but why not start a new thread for that group instead of hijacking this one?

It is jazzy, so it would appeal to more sophisticated tastes. Your best bet is to stick with Louie, Louie by the Kingsmen.

If you are a Beatles fan, you have to listen to this album. Some of the tracks are better than the original Beatles versions. And you can understand the lyrics for the very first time!

Toccata and Fugue is just Church music. Beethoven's Fifth Symphony is more of a forerunner to hard rock.

Keith has written that he hated classical music until just recently. That's a shame because his music would have been much more interesting if he had had some background in classical.

QuoteMore Hot Rocks Quotemitchflorida1 Obama tried to destroy Gibson Guitar but failed. lol. you're crazy. The law was put into effect in 2008 by George Bush. get your facts straight. It was Obama who brought the lawsuit. Actually it was Obama's puppet, Eric Holder. Obama gets much $$$ from the Environmental Lobby.

QuoteRip This Quotemitchflorida1 Your definition of "great" and mine are quite a bit different. Gore Vidal tried to take credit for writing the screenplay for Ben-Hur but was actually thrown out on his ass when he tried to portray Ben-Hur as being gay. anyway you look at it...he wore a dress throughout the whole movie anyway....and what's gayer than that? That's so funny I forgot
