QuoteCousinC Guys that play like him should always return for some more. Fantastic player who made the others play better as well for a very good rendition - and they all seemed to enjoy it. I agree. It's not showy or gimmicky like some of the female guests. It's just about the music. I've been a Mayer fan since Continuum and always heard traces of Taylor in his playing, not as an influence -

Very cool. Except I'd like to see them mix it up a little. Mayer can do a 'Rock me Baby', but I can see him kicking ass with Taylor on something like 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking" or anything for that matter. JM is versatile.

QuoteBliss Before you judge, put yourself in Angelina's place. Imagine you had an 87% chance of contracting the disease which killed your mother. Would you ever get into your car if you knew there was an 87% chance of being in a serious accident if you did? I imagine that none of us here has six children, but we can all understand that someone who chose to have so many, including adopted ones, mu

QuoteAquamarine Just to set the record straight, no, a cure for cancer does not exist and they're not hiding it from you. I have a dog in this fight, and conspiracy theories don't help matters. Back to the still-beautiful Ms. Jolie. Yes. This was a personal decision for her - one you could also see as a political statement for women and their bodies (I do). But it really is essentially abo

Can't open this video on my work computer, but if its the STP Dallas Rehearsals, i agree its an amazing version. I love the horns on this version - you don't hear that on the record. And Jagger's vocals....you can literally feel his voice through the speakers.

If I ever doubted her bad assness before, I never will again. She's a real warrior. Men in my office had their snarky comments because let's face, unless they've been personally, directly affected, the subject still freaks men out....so it's reassuring to see the guys on this board show respect and understanding for what she did. Every female on the planet lives with the spector of cancer..

She butchered it. I'm open to guests, and I'll defend Mick's choices...even when it doesn't make sense ....ie, when the guests doesn't seem to even be a fan. But this was ridiculous, and she didn't even seem to know the song. I mean, if you're going to accept an invitation from the Rolling @#$%& Stones, learn the words to the damn song. Guys I know and at work are always going on about Gwen Ste

Jesus, some of you people sound like you're either 15 years old or 80. Maybe you should all go to the show together, stand in front and boo Katy, like they did Justin Timberlake in 2003. And then Keith can scream at you to shut the @#$%& up because you're all meatheads. I would pay to see that.

QuoteWuudy I don't get why he should feel insulted. The Stones asked him if he wanted to be a guests on the whole tour and he said yes. Why should you expect to play more then 1 song? If he does then he should really feel insulted that they didn't asked him for the A bigger bang tour or 40 licks or B2B... He is not a member he is a guest and I think it is a lovely gesture of them to ask him afte

Quotemickschix What could be more romantic than " Winter"?? " I wanna wrap my coat around you, woman"...that lyric always moved me. YES! You beat me to it. This is Jagger's most purely romantic song and that's the best line. And this one: 'Sometime I wanna....light a candle for ya..' He sounds so in love in this song.

Quotelatebloomer Great posts Bill and stupidguy2. I remember the Janet Jackson video for love will never do without you, stupidguy2. Shot mostly in black and white, Janet was gorgeous and my goodness, that man on the beach! I didn't know that Herb Ritts was involved in making her videos, that explains the beautiful film work. Hell yes. I remember when it came out too and I'm not at all embar

Bill, I would argue that videos about sex are provocative for entirely different reasons. That's a whole other thing in the avant-garde vein. But that kind of sexy is cold and academic. Madge used sexuality in her videos, but I never found her videos sexy at all. Compare that to Janet's Herb Ritts videos - there was a natural sensuality. Gaga is closer to Madge in that respect. Love the gi

I immediately thought it was a shame it didn't come out on a Stones release because so many Stones are going to resist it as a Mick Jagger Solo Release. I just watched a BBC documentary on Spector last night. While I love Spector's early stuff with The Ronettes - great atmosphere - that sound did not fit the Beatles. I like Naked, if only for the stripped down version of The Long and Winding Road. In its original form, its simple and elegiac, about the death of Paul's mother (?) Spector was bombastic and his style overshadowed the music and a

QuoteGumbootCloggeroo I like Justin Timberlake. He's got skills. Good singer. Good dancer. His tunes are funky. He's always great on SNL. But since he doesn't play a guitar then most Stones fans on here will dismiss him as an untalented hack. Whatever. He does...and keyboards.
