Since you through in, "To me", I guess your ridiculous statement gets a pass, but "to me", it's an insane and insulting point of view. Jerry and many others have talked about what an incredible rhythm player Weir is. He sounds like no one else, and in a world full of guitar players, that's a huge plus.

I'd appreciate it if someone could clarify for me about the Keith doc. Is it for sure that the Johnny Depp footage is being used? Or is it for sure NOT the Depp footage?

I know this will be outlandish to some, as it would have been to me a few weeks ago, but I've been really listening to Tokyo 90 a lot lately. Some of it is dreck, Gimme Shelter in particular as well as JJFlash, but Midnight Rambler is AMAZING. Very tight, dramatic and well paced. Especially good are the transitions in and out of the slow, middle jam. Big surprise for me that I liked th

Quotematxil Personally, I like Waits from the 70s better. As Naturalust says: "Closing Time" is very good. My favourites would be "Heartattack and Vine" and "Small Change". But indeed, "Raindogs" (and the one before "Swordfishtrombone" ) are very good as well, and I count them as his last really great albums. After those, his later albums got mo

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteRocky Dijon"'s... mad at Mick for doing the movie and the Lenny Kravitz thing - he's not going to do a record. He's going to do one last record and then the band is going to be over. And then there's this whole thing with Ron Wood - he's dying. He's concerned." And the bit about Ronnie dying... I almost laughed when I read that. D

Quotekleermaker As far as I know there's only one GS version from the European 1970 tour available. It's a transition version from 69 to 72, Is this available anywhere, Kleermaker? According to RocksOff, it was only played at the first show of the tour in Helsinki and no tape exists. Is that accurate?

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteNaturalust Quote71Tele Stray Cat actually has the same chords in the intro/verse as Sweet Home Alabama. If so, completely different inversions. They of course sound nothing like each other rhythmically. Many other songs though use that D, C, G (Em passing) structure with much similarity. Sweet Home Alabama, Dear Mr Fantasy, Your Time is Gonna Come, Main Street just to n

QuoteTurner68 it's entirely possible that MT is not well and your "sources" were wrong. often health problems are the last thing we tell people we are close to. for example, it's possible MT was going to go on the tour with them, got a physical, and something came up there that caused the insurance company to balk. MT might have disagreed with what was found, and yet the stone

QuoteSnoopy All right...not excited about long drive home to Alaska, so maybe one more show -- Detroit -- but need something to do until then. Currently at motel in Lexington, KY. Any ideas on where to settle down for next few days between here and Detroit, or cool things to do, are appreciated! Yes, hurry to Chicago for the Dead. Even if only for the parking lot!

Quotekleermaker Of course this is pure nonsense. In the first place since we simply can't coumpare, and secondly since there's no soundboard recording from the 69 tour except Ya Ya's. Oakland is no soundboard and besides it's from the beginning of the tour and we all know the performances developed during the tour, as we can hear f.i. as for Sympathy FTD. Matthijs is stat

Quotecaschimann Don´t you all think those "INDUSTRY"-people are real, big Rolling Stones fans like you?? Isn´t it their right to take the chance of being there, when offered to them? And: Don´t you think that even when the Stones invite all the people they have a close relationship to in the LA-area it would fill 3 Fonda theaters??? So what? Lets be happy for those who were in. Quotestonesfrkk They should have Sanborn, then they could do Pretty Beat Up and what ever else he played on Undercover? I'd love to hear Pretty Beat Up Live! That's a blistering solo he'play's! It won't be the same though with out Bobby sad sad sad. I always loved Think I'm Goin Mad. Should have been a single.

Quotestonesrule Don't know where you get your information about celebrity audiences for the Stones. It's inaccurate. Do you mean celebrities aren't a dead crowd? Or the Fonda won't be filled with in invited celebs?

I feel pretty sure that I just saw Charlie's bass drum head in a box outside on a picnic table. When I inquired, I was asked to leave the premises, politely but firmly, which I did directly. No activity, it's Sunday, but it was fun and intriguing.

Quotejazzbass Quoteshawnriffhard1 It boggles the mind thinking of what could have been. Tell me what could've been? Seriously? Listen, I've been a fanatic since the spring of 81 as a 12 year old. I built many of my points of view on Keith's words and actions. To say I love the guy doesn't really begin to get it, but his playing and writing ability, and mindset have been

Sadly, tragically, I agree with the mascot statement. Not only from a playing standpoint, but his lack of knowledge about what's going on at the office is particularly distressing. Not knowing about MT on PMSoul, MT is sick, etc. Sad stuff, but really makes you look back and realize how much damage his drugging and drinking have caused to himself and by influencing MT & RW. It boggles th
