Sorry, T&A, but for those of us who got to see them in '72 - we're old now! Anyhow, July 4th, RFK Stadium, Washington DC - Typical stadium sound ; not the greatest and of course, very loud.

The September 1966 issue no. 105 with Batman on the cover had an inside front cover black and white actual photograph of the Stones at a press conference with a Mad inserted word bubble that had Mick saying something like "Actually I consider us more than just a bunch of pretty faces". I have the magazine but am unable to scan.

It is definitely Reverend Smith, which was an inside joke, referring to drummer Neal Smith.

QuoteChrisM So stones69, let hear your impressions and memories of the show! Well, as a 15 year old, I hadn't started experimenting with booze or any drugs yet, so I figured that since everybody else waiting outside the gate was, I would have some kind of advantage when the gate opened. When it did open I bolted for the turnstiles as quick as I could and literally got pushed through. They nev

stonesrules, sorry for the delayed response. Unfortunately both my mom and dad are gone. But my dad was never a big fan, although for some reason really liked "Brown Sugar". My mom kinda liked them.

...that my mom and dad dropped a 15-year old little hippie kid off in front of RFK Stadium in Washington DC and said "have fun and we'll pick you up after the concert". I'll never forget that day, the concert, and my first time seeing "The Greatest Rock'n'Roll Band in the World".

I saw him live in the 80's; great guitar player. "Strong Persuader" is a fine LP; my favorite song is "Right Next Door" - kick ass solo. Check out his LP with Albert Collins and Johnny Copeland; "Showdown" - damn good playin' from all three.

Thanks, misterfrias. I just believe the Stones were at their pinnacle on that tour, just the band and Ian Stewart, w/o all the extra players later on. I think they could definately lay claim to the title "The Greatest Rock'n'Roll Band in the World" at the time. Anyhow, I am looking for: L.A. 69 - Nov. 8, - 2nd show w/ bonus 45 (Outsider Bird), Special Collectors Series Volume 18 (O

My wife bought my first CD player for my birthday in the early 90's. She also gave me my first CD (which she knew was my favorite all time LP) - "Get Yer Ya-Yas Out". Still is.

Pretty cool version from the Coop. Though somehow I doubt the Stones will ever cover "Dead Babies".

Quotepmk251 But I would rather have some pie-in-sky kid dreaming of a better world than the cynical, hypocritical conservatives of today, the religious fundamentalist or the corporate puppetmasters. Those people scare me and are dangerous. What did the man say? When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and be carrying a cross. Why did you have to go and interject your poli

I don't give a rats ass if other people here think the Alice Cooper band sucked. "Love it to Death", "Killer", School's Out" and "Billion Dollar Babies" were soundtracks to my teenage days. I saw them once on the Killer tour and twice on the BDB tour. They were a fantastic live band and I'll never forget those shows. And they did put on a rock'n'roll show.

Amazing that nobody mentioned these two rock'n'roll classics: Still Alive and Well and John Dawson Winter III. One of the all-time greatest guitarists. Go, Johnny, go!

Quoteheadly123 I was at that show. It was pretty insane. People were throwing fire crackers down from the upper deck down on the people on the field. The whole place was open seating so it was a free for all .Way to many people on the infield which was another problem. The rumor was that they had tacks on the front of the stage to keep the people off . But as you can see from the picture it didn'

Quotealimente Quotestones69 I agree; whoever is producing them has done a fine job as the covers and vinyl are very nicely done. So they're not the original TSP - big deal. It's not like anyone owns the TSP copyright. Youre pretty ignorant. Covers and vinyl may be fine, but theres no original material, just a rehash of old boots and torrent-originated stuff using the brand name TSP to fool co
