Happy Birthday Mr. Winwood! By revealing my age I remember a poll some music-mag did back in the mid 60ies. Something like "... build your Supergroup" Result was: Vocals: Stevie Winwood (Yep, he was young Stevie back then) Guitar: George Harrison Bass: John Entwistle Organ: Graham Bond Drums: Keith Moon My gawd, those were the days. :-)

Met Alexis Korner in late 1969. It was a 3 days festival and we had talk a couple of times. Mainly about Brian Jones whom he visited after he was kicked out of the Stones.

Great stuff. Thanks for posting. Please let these vids coming. 1969!!! What a summer to be in London. First Blind Faith and then the Stones in the park. Though it was not their best playing the vibe is tremendous. Still hope to see the entire concert on DVD one day.

At the end of June this year I will retire from work after 40 years in the office. I remember these 20 years ago I said things like ... QuoteMunichhilton This is a scary mix of musicians. Mick and Ringo with Walsh. It's turning into whiskey, toothpaste and peanut butter...but some might like that combo. In 2008 Joe Walsh married Marjorie Bach, sister of Ringo's wife Barbara Bach. So it's probably kind of a little family affair.

QuoteMathijs QuotePhil Good QuoteVT22 Keith' best solo with the Sones ever, imo. Do we hear what was recorded at the concert or was it overdubbed later in the studio? No guitar overdubs here. Thanks Mathijs, glad to read that. I bought the vinyl LP the day it came out and since then this Keith-Solo is ome of my favorite live K-solos ever.

Quoteslew ozziestone - JJF is IMO a better song as well but there is only maybe two or three songs that are more important to the develpoment of this whole genre than Satisfaction. Agreed. Will you name the other two or three songs you are thinking of, please.

Quotevox12string Bo played Down Under close to 30 years ago, saw him at the Melbourne Moomba celebrations, free outdoor gig, couldn't get better. He used local pickup bands as did Chuck Berry but there was quiet a difference between the two. I chatted with one of the guitarists after the gig, asked him what was Bo like & stuff, he replied that their rehearsal consisted of lighting up & ha
