I've always wished to see that NME pollwinner show.In early Stones books it's always said it was screened in the UK. At least parts of it.I wonder did anyone see it or - is the concert still in TV vaults?

Quotekleermaker QuoteErik_Snow Quote24FPS Being overlooked, unless I'm wrong, is that we NEVER got Sway and Can't You Hear Me Knocking live in the Taylor era. Due to paper reports, describing CYHMK even before Sticky Fingers even was released, we know for sure that it was performed at the first Newcastle show of 1971. I started a thread about it, 2 years ago. Still I have my doubts about that

At least since this show I'm really frustrated that I won't see them on this tour. First time for me since 1970. Some of those song videos gave me shivers again . .

Berry stuff - like Midnight Rambler - has always worked. They did great Queenie versions in 97(last Berry tour).I think Taylor is more needed on other songs.

Quotemelillo dave grohl talks shit about keith in the lemmy doc and then goes up there and plays with him, hypocrite! Well, I didn't like that myself.I think Mick brought him in cause he played with him before. But in the end Keith has said many things as well and I don't think they take it all too serious.Im not a Grohl/FooF. fan, but it's a good rockin version and Grohl brings back some energ

Quotepalerider22 QuoteCousinC Great energy! Bring him back for slightly dragging songs like Rocks off. To compare with 70's versions makes no sense here. Oh sure, why not...bring Grohl back for 'Rocks Off". Bring him back for the final bow too...he plays as much as Taylor does...you know, the original guitarist on that song sitting around watching... Oh my god! I've always loved Taylors

One of my Stones faves and its great that they play it. I don't expect wonders at this part of the game. All in all they play much better than I'd thought. . .

QuoteHis Majesty I like those ones for some reason... - Some Things Just Stick in Your Mind - Each and Everyday of the Year - I'd Much Rather Be With the Boys - (Walkin' Thru The) Sleepy City That's the 4 Pop tunes I always liked as well for whatever reason! Plus Jiving Sister, Going down and I don't know why. If you let me, Don't lie to me and even Wyman's Suzie ain't that bad as w

Taylor more or less throughout the show would bring the Stones out of their long loved comfort zone and lead them back to more exciting renditions of many songs again. But it wont happen and I can understand why from their perspective. Still 3 songs should be possible and would be fine with me.

Quotekleermaker The Rolling Stones during their first golden age are an integral part of my youth. I had the age of ten when Satisfaction came out and I loved it immediately. Listened to TSMR when I was 12, knowing the songs by heart. Discovered Aftermath and Between The Buttons later, after Through The Past, Darkly (what a sleeve that album had!) and High Tide, Green Grass. Then all those other

Guys that play like him should always return for some more. Fantastic player who made the others play better as well for a very good rendition - and they all seemed to enjoy it.

New album? I'd say: depends . . I'm not that hot for it anymore but in the end I'd take it of course. There will come a long, long time without any new Stones albums.

When I look back Hyde Park was such a big event in Stones history. The spirit and feel of those days . . another time really. And I think it wasn't that easy to keep the guitars tuned given the surroundings. Even if they'd tuned them right, it was hot and they had to get trough all those people, getting touched, etc. What a short, long way from Hyde Park to Altamont . .

Quoteemotionalbarbecue Hypothesis: MT was expelled from the band. Keith was at the time in the peak of his addiction. Taylor could become a problem becouse of the same reason. Two guitar players with two big problems. Jagger could not evidently get rid of Keith so MT was expelled. No one would acknwoledge it as everyone could be get harmed. The "I leave" story is ilogical but harms

QuoteHavo The last time I saw the Stones in Anaheim was July 1978. Hope you will have so much fun tonight!!!! Wow, Hatty! You've been over there that early? But not just for our boys,or? In those days it wasn't common already to go on tour with them worldwide.I'd been to a lot of gigs myself, - but only in Europe. How did you like that famous shoeshine show?

To be honest I met him on the 76 tour and found him to be a very odd guy. Perhaps I've seen him on a bad day.I loved Keith and Ronnie. Charlie was mostly drunk.Jagger was on his own. But . . well . .

In hindsight the Stones had mostly been lucky. In the 60's they had Brian. When you needed a guitar god in the early 70's they had Taylor. When punk came they got Woody.

Yeah, 73/74 were - after progressive rock - the years of jazz-rock. Taylor wanted to play those styles with great musicians. And the Stones were in a bad shape. It all came together.

Haven't we been there a 1000 times? If the drugs would have been a main reason he wouldn't have teamed up with Jack Bruce who was shooting up smack and coke even more than. Think there have been many reasons and he was lured out from others like A. Johns and Taylors wife. Plus in those days there was still the chance of getting big record contracts. There wasn't one reason alone. And I'm shure h
