Yeah, it's great. In 2011 when we arrived on the Thursday it was about the last patch of green grass left on the site. We had Worthy View booked as a back up if we failed to get a tipi, but yours truly was ready the second they went onsale to get one in the bag. Split between six people it's not too brutal an extravagance.

^ Those ultra-pricey yurts are usually offsite in fields owned by other farmers, unaffiliated to Glastonbury and a 20 odd minute walk away. Hopefully they'll put Mick Taylor up in the tipi field where we are. The Master Musicians of Joujouka were there the last time.

Someone entirely different on before the Stones like a big dance or pop act would have suited me better as it would create larger crowd movement and increase the chances of getting close to the stage without having to hang around for ages at the Pyramid. After Primal Scream, though, everyone's going t stay put, so it's gonna be rammed pretty tight from about halfway through Elvis Costello.

Quotestonehearted According to a very recent interview, Mick says Glastonbury was something they'd always wanted to do but had never been asked. They're doing it this year because they were finally asked to . They've been asked plenty of times and turned it down - though that's often been a matter of timing as the band haven't been together for touring at the time.

Wild Horses should be bolted into the setlist. Though that I'm Free cover was 23 years ago, so I dunno if 'newer' is the right word!

Not too far a walk, actually (though that's all relative as the site is huge). This is the map from 2011. A lot of the detail will change, but Acoustic and West Holts will be in the same places: This is also a useful gizmo. Glasto Earth:

QuoteThe Worst. Does anyone have an idea what's going to happen if we don't reply within the 'deadline' of three days? I'm running out of time according to Rob Hallett. While it's an arbitrary deadline, I didn't particularly want to find out and be left with tickets best characterised as 'white elephants'.

I've had an ongoing conversation with AXS today. They told me this morning that "A clearer map will be posted up soon clearing up any confusion", but it soon became clear that whoever was manning the helpdesk wasn't up to speed with the current situation as the latest update this evening is a copy of the AEG 'downgrade or refund' email previously posted. Good luck to those of you pu

It's in Silver Hayes, which is the re-jigged and remodelled Dance Village: They've also repositioned Arcadia to be near the Other Stage and there's a whole new field for Latin music as well. Me gusta. Whichever one I end up in, I'm going to be fairly full of rum.

Ah - it seems that Bourbon Street isn't going to be there this year. There is a new area called 'Blues' that may offer up something similar. I'm most interested in the Gully: Quotethe Gully - a brand new installation combining an open air stage and a pulsating street of sound systems and stalls featuring the best new DJs, MCs and live music. Says Festival Organiser Emily Eavis: "

Indeed. With the exception of when the Stones - and anyone else you may be fond of - are on the Pyramid Stage, avoid the place as much as possible. Instead do something like make a beeline for West Holts, grab a pint of Brothers and a plate of Goan seafood curry and dance like a loon to whatever's on the stage at the time.

QuoteHis Majesty That suggestion brings up problems of people coming and going as they please etc and many GA ticket holders are still being denied what they are supposed to have. Not really. Anyone who enters on of these tiers for the first time is going to be given some sort of colur-coded wristband to allow them exit and re-entry from that point onwards.

Quotemaxx Tier 1 + 2 Total = 5,000 Tickets minus however many they refund or change to GA 3 Source? T2 alone looks absolutely massive.

Glastonbury is incredible. Perpare for an experience like no other. The Rolling Stones are just one aspect of a whole cornucopia of exotic and sensory delights.

Yeah - Springsteen is debatable, but it was probably an example of a 'fan's setlist' than something to appeal to the unpartisan punter. And Outlaw Pete is beyond awful Gorillaz would be another recent example of someone who definitely fluffed it. Looking at the IOW setlist, there were definite mistakes. Playing more songs from Steel Wheels (1) than Let It Bleed (0) isn't going to convert

Quotecrumbling_mice Hell yes, I reckon the Glasto appearance might be a classic. No band turns up as headliners and then puts on an average show at Glasto. I dunno - I think the consensus is that a few artists have managed to make a bit of a pig's ear of it - U2 and Springsteen in recent years. It'll probably hinge on the setlist. Again, I think there's a consensus that their Isle of Wight

Has anyone heard anything back from AEG - or anyone else - since yesterday teatime? Concerned that it's now the weekend and we might not make any headway over the weekend while Rob Hallett's swanning around on a yacht with Simon Le Bon or something.

Quotesjs12 Now hopefully you can "get what you need", though maybe not what you want! Good luck with it. Cheers - though as it stands I've not recieved a response from Rob Hallett and so am currently saddled with two extortionate yet unfloggable T1 tickets that sequester me into worthless, tw@t-shaped, stageside ghetto. OK - I exaggerate for effect. But not by bl00dy much.

Quotesjs12 I bought the GA £95 ticket on the basis of official RS tweets etc that all GA ticket holders would have cance of getting to front if they get there early enough. This was clearly announced before the sale. Uh-uh. This was announced after the pre-sale had commenced and after many people - including myself - had bought tickets for what they thought were FOS tiers. For clarity:
