Thank you, Sebastian. I just downloaded into my Kindle Reader App and I perused a few pages...great read! I will read it and leave a great review on Amazon. Thanks again...the book looks fascinating.

The prices they are demanding is a perfect example of their hubristic, almost comical mis-reading of the times...especially in light of the fact that it is now clear that their collaborative creative well (which is how the best Stones music was created) is bone-dry and a new album is a pipe-dream...so it is on with another lucrative Victory Lap Tour. Doom an Gloom (the new tune) is a great, ki

On the one hand I am excited. The band sounds refocused. On the other hand I am really disappointed that the band chose to tour without a new album. And the price of the tickets (commented on ad nauseum everywhere) is another downer. It will be interesting to see how the shows sell. This is the ultimate Rolling Jukebox tour. The state of the economy will certainly play a role...I can

Schillid, this is bloody amazing. It could well be a very rare and valuable item. What a find!!! Beautiful. The care and creativity and expense that goes into these old Rock posters are something we will never see again in this age of digital distribution and utterly devalued music. This is like hieroglyphics to younger generations.

This is insane. Just amazing. I hope they feel the light and heat and realize that the world is theirs in 2013...a new album, a limited (but wider) tour with the same focus and tightness...dates in Europe...Argentina...some more dates in the States...the possibilities...! Please integrate Mick Taylor into it somehow...and Bill Wyman if possible. I did not think these skinny óld cats would ha

Quotemidimannz They're hideous Lol, WHAT a stupid comment! These Guys, my/our friends since 1969, are still playing, and why we can't others enjoy the music, if you dont like it, why not?, My elderly advice to you, shut up! If you can't afford it, it's because you aren't earning enough. WE dont care. I'm working my tits off to see a concert next year that's important to me in my life! Your moan

Great read. Great find. A true time-capsule back to the mid-80's. Hard to believe, after reading the article, that the Stones are back in New York this week...26 years later...still together and singing for their supper! Thank you!!

I've spent the last several hours or so flying through these posts and watching the videos. Thank you to everyone for being so generous with your words, pictures, and videos. What a rush to hear Keith once again locked into his guitar! And Ronnie's playing is also so terrific. Jagger is really singing again!!! The nasal twine is almost gone and his strong, supple voice is once again in evidenc

QuoteDuane in Houston I applaud The Stones for 50 years of great music and all that goes along with it. I think it's fantastic that they are taking the dinosaur out (one last time?) to celebrate their 5Oth anniversay as the world's greatest rock-n-roll band. And I am verily impressed that they are getting people to pay $1000 for a ticket.... God Bless free enterprise and good old western capitali

The Rolling Stones are the Fat Duck of the entertainment industry. Mathijs Mathijs are you serious, 9 months to get a seat in these restaurants? I would say it's time to expand at any cost! If you'd expand people would not be paying the big bucks anymore, so you would earn less as overhead will grow. If you decrease the amount of tables you will have to increase prices so less people wi

Seen some of them before but some I think are new uploads? Amazing pics. Handbook in how to be a rock star. Having been at several of the shows in New York pictured here I have to concur...the Stones -- already the cooles

What a drag...Mike Love once again kills the Good Vibrations. I enjoyed the tour and really liked the album...some real gems in it. Can he really be that obtuse? The Beach Boys brand has just been somewhat burnished and rehabilitated by the last tour and album...and he wants to drag it back into the dusty attic of mutual acrimony? What the hell is the matter with that old coot?

I for one love the cover and find its' purposely tasteless, irreverent gorilla picture and in-your-face with a do-it-yourself marker-pen graffiti-style font a cheeky and impertinent smirk at those pious, devotional souls awaiting some elegant, heavy-handed, reverential memorial repository of musical history. Fvck that. What is profoundly disappointing is the lack of creativity IN THE CON

Excellent question / thread. One of the Stones' undisputed strengths is their tradition of fantastic closing tracks to their albums. From their first album's closer (Walking the Dog) and throughout their glory years it seemed every album closed with something special...(OK, Satanic Majesties' "On With The Show" could be counted as an exception...much better to have closed with "2

No "burn-out" Classic Rock fan am I -- though I love much of the genre. My music collection (and my socio/political reading list) is up to date and constantly being renewed and refreshed. What remains stuck in an echo-chamber time-warp is the incestuous, blinkered inanity that Rolling Stone Magazine has been for years...trivial to the extreme...and totally irrelevant to anyone aside f

QuoteSilver Dagger Kow Tow is a great song. Shame about the cover and Let's Work - Jagger's embracing of Margaret Thatcher's get up off your fat arse work ethic. Shameful that Jagger picked that up. Yea...shameful...Work Ethic and all that useless shite...who needs to work when the dole and sitting on your fat arse is so much easier...better to "Hang Fire" right Silver Dagger? In t

Typical half-ass throwaway list by that tattered, faded Leftist rag. Rolling Stone used to be relevant...about 35 years ago. Since then it has devolved into literary refuse. Their latest cover is a new low... ...and this list is as perfunctory, superficial and yawn inducing as their usual drivel. Perfect example of their insistence on injecting their vacuum-sealed, echo-chamber, incestuous

Quotelatebloomer Leon Wieseltier unloads on what he calls "the literature of fandom" about Bruce Springsteen in this piece in the New Republic. I think there is some truth to what he says, but there is also a fair amount of snobbish cynicism. Don't know if any of you read the huge profile of Bruce by David Remmick in The New Yorker, but this author tears it apart. Here is his take on

The Olympics Closing Ceremony was an amateurish, shambolic mess...an embarrassment...the most vulgar and trite elements of British "Popular" culture done in a 3rd rate manner and splashed over with a sensibility of infantile Gigantism. The amazing music and film and theater and dance that Britain has produced the last 50 years was done an immense disservice...Annie Lennox? Take That?

QuoteSilver Dagger They were great in their day. Like a cross between The Velvet Underground and early The Beach Boys with a fuzzed out psychotic sound. Didn't know they had reformed. Absolutely go and see them. Perfectly put. Loved their 80's albums. Brilliant stuff like Psychocandy and Darklands. They were fascinating.

1970. European Tour. First European tour since '67. Stones still at their peak. This tour is the most overlooked Tour of the post-60's era and probably one of their best...just a few months after their riotous and mythical U.S. tour Their Satanic Majesties barnstorm through Europe on the heels of witnessing and participating in the death of the 60's at the Altamont Apocalypse -- and their Euro

Yes, Bleecker Bob's did become a bit of a Tourist Trap but in my heyday of Import and Bootleg hunting in the 70's and 80's it was a fantastic place...great memories of slumming it downtown to look through the racks for "forbidden gems". Bleecker Bob's will always have a place in my heart...as the Digital Revolution takes another monument to Days Gone By down...

Listening to the Beach Boys is an exercise in longing. Their best songs are usually set in a magical, parallel time and place...it is almost always the summer of 1965 and we are all 16 and buff, live on the beach in California, and have a groovy, blonde, super-gone girl and a red hot-rod with a surfboard plopped on top in the driveway. Their dramas always play on a variation of this fantasy.
