Quotestoneswashed77 no i don´t see in your post you are talking about marketing. you are talking about liking them live. did you realise that they don´t play live? and again they don´t play in the studio neither. this is not a real band! they are marionetts, the music, how they act, what they say, everything is staged. this is more than just marketing. I'm no guitar-player so I'

QuoteRollingStonesFan I can point out one important similarity between the Stones and Tokio Hotel (in the sense of 'marketing' and NOT in the sense of music): they are provoking with their appearance and therewith theay were / are polarizing.

Quotestoneswashed77 Rolling Stones Fan i suppose you don´t know, but they don´t write their own songs. they have 4 producers who do that. and they also don´t play their instruments, they have various session players who do that. and then everything gets quantised and tuned. to compare that to the rolling stones is a bit strange i find. Yes, I know that. The artists are just Co-producers.

Quoteopen-g [...] I wonder how many people had similar thoughts when the Rolling Stones started out. That's the point! The parents' generation was disgusted by bands like the Beatles or the Stones in the 60ies and parents are disgusted by Tokio Hotel nowadays. I can point out one important similarity between the Stones and Tokio Hotel (in the sense of 'marketing' and NOT in the sense of

The documentary on Four Flicks is probably the best material of the last decades. Much better than the equivalent on Biggest Bang.

Because of the fact that the Stones don't tour currently, I need to go to concerts of other bands, just like AC/DC, U2 and so on. Two weeks ago, I went with some friends to the gig of Tokio Hotel at Oberhausen (Germany). I was very impressed by the strong performance and their great musical work. Since 2008, the band got more and more popular in other Europeen countries and also in Noth America

In my oppinion, all those albums from Steel Wheels on are underrated. All of these albums have brialliant material - Terrifying on Steel Wheels, You Got Me Rocking on Voodoo Lounge (although it's played to death live), Out Of Control on Bridges To Bablyon or Rough Justice on Bigger Bang...just to name my favourites. What a pitty they stopped playing Sad Sad Sad, Mixed Emotions or Terrifying after

I was wondering, why the Stones played in 1995 2 gigs in a circle of about 20km - within just 3 days. August, 19th they played at Hockenheim, three days later, they played at Mannheim. Why two shows (each with 80-100 thousand people) in thre days in one region? Was Mannheim one of thous extra shows?

Great photos, especially, sorry open-g, the first one. When I had some closer looks to Ronnie, I must say that he looks much more better than he did some months ago. He seems to be healthy again, after his alcohol-problems during the Europeen leg of the tour...nice to see this!

I agree with you, Liddas. ABB tour was fine. Werchter was a great show until Keith started with his set. From then on, the show was simply a desaster! However, I'll never forget that show, maybe Werchter 2007 will be that show out of 12 (by now) which I'll remember best.

Have a look at the ticket. Normally this information is given on the rightest part of the ticket. I don't know what it is like at your show but as far as I know, this service is included at all stadium-shows in Munich.

QuoteBjorn Quotehockenheim95 AC/DC plays the same setlist every night and every tour has the same structure. i liked the two shows I saw this year but if the play every evening exactly the same it is boring to attend more shows. but every stones show is different. that's why i go to as many stones concerts as possible. Yes! If you want to be surprised - go to a stadium show with the Rolling Sto

Wow! Sometimes, I guess I loved it more to meet Alice Cooper than any of the Stones although, RS are my unbeaten No.1! I've read a lot of articles that Alice is such a nice guy and, as you have written in your interesting report Woody24, really down-to-earth. By the way, I saw Alice Cooper last fall at Munich and the show was really great. The show and the concert. What a pitty that only half o

One can say that you probably can get a recording of almost every show the Stones played. Maybe not these first gigs in the 60ies but beyond. My question now is if there are that many bootlegs of bifferent shows from other bands. Are there so much bootlegs from AC/DC-shows, U2, The Who, Brude Springsteen?

QuoteSteven BtB was the worst tour I've seen, particularly Ronnie's playing and the set lists. The front row bimbos in St. L. were as sad as those at the Beacon. HUMILIATING. The audience in a particular show isn't an argument for or against a tour. I think, St.Louis 1997 is the best live-recording, the Stones ever published. It's just amazing!!!

Jumping Jack Flash was the best opener I heared out of three. Start Me Up was also great, Street Fighting Man was great for being opener at an indoor-show. In a stadium, it would not work that good.

Always bad to hear such news. BUT IF YOU LIVE SOME MILES AWAY FROM THE PLACE IT HAPPENED, A WORLD BREAKS DOWN TO YOU. I feld really really shocked if I heared the news from Winnenden and Wndlingen today here in Germany. Just 30 miles from here, yesterday I drove through one of that towns. I can't believe...not even a bit...
