My god - lloking at this picture I just can't help thinking: Have all Stones fans become complete imbeciles? I bet if these guys are standing in the front row they will watch the TV screen above the stage instead of the performers. And none of them probably ever wanted to play music themselves or even dance to the music.

Idiotic group, idiotic rendition. Who wants to hear another cover version of "Ruby Tuesday" anyway?

I play it in open E (E-B-E-G#-B-E) and if you like, tune it down ½ step to match the recording. And since you're tuned - you may as well try "Prodigial son", "No expectations" (using some slide), "Youcan't always get what you want" or even "Memo from Turner".

QuoteTippyToe I find the animal rights/veganist community to be very dishonest and they will claim anyone to be vegan/vegetarian if they think there is the slightest chance they can get somebody to believe it. Not exactly - for example they won't accept the fact that Adolf Hitler and Heinrich Himmler were vegetarians and they are excellent in finding dozens of reasons why these guys weren't &qu

I just found this one: a person named Michie Dee (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michie_Mee) doing a song named "Don't wanna be your slave": In my opinion this is mainly a rip-off of the Rolling Stones's "Slave" - not only taking its title but also the main riff, only decorated with some crap text and some half-naked black asses. (Caution - the "song" only start

I recently stumbled about some articles stating Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts are vegetarians, e. g. * * * * (Jagger denying it) Does anyone have more information on this subject? Is it true, and if so - why are they vegetarians and since when?

QuoteEdith Grove Here's mine: Found it here: I first saw this in the July 1978 issue of Creem magazine in the U.S., the same month I saw my first Stones show. I love the attitude this shot conveys. If anyone has a larger version of this, please post it here. Can anyone give sources for other shots from this session? I own a picture from this session which has the sequence Watts,

The last four pages in this discussion rarely discuss Keith's fuckups at all, insteads some feuds are going on or even a discussion about Mick Jagger's fuckups, but whatever. Since some of us like it raw and swell, I'll just sum up this thread one more time: 1969.11.09 Oakland, Coliseum Arena (2nd show): Live with me 1971.03.26 London, Marquee Club: Midnight rambler 1975 Happy 1975.06.17

In August 1990 I saw the Stones twice in Oslo (Norway) where Jagger introduced Ronnie as "Norwegian Wood" - with latter actually playing a few bars of the Beatles song!

I hate to admit it (bevause he's only Dave Dave Grohl) but he's right. Keith Richards actually stopped being Keith Richards when he decided to stay alive in 1977. Since then Lemmy took over - without even trying. If you look at it straight - since they exist, Motörhead made the better rock'n'roll records than the Stones. But still it's Lemmy who recorded Keith's "Jumpin' Jack Flash" an

In his new autobiography "Life" Keith mentions the skull ring in the very first chapters, about 1967. It is not said if he actually wore a skull ring then, but he mentions the maker of his first skull ring there.

You don't call these jewel box inlets an "album cover"? True album cover art has long gone since vinyl records were replaced by compact discs. The last true Stones album cover was "Dirty work" - no true album cover has been done since. Just little pictures of things you don't want to see. Some of them real ugly.

CD 2 covers the time from about 1963 to mid-1966. Sometimes it seems Keith doesn't really rememember but his ghost writer just compiled some stories he found elsewhere and connected them with some Keith-sims... well. Still, most of it sounds funy and/or interesting (if only I hadn't heard so many times before). The most interesting things on this 2nd CD (of 6) are * Mick is nearly not existin

Since I didn't find anything about it in the IORR archive - does anyone know what the letters CUN and COC in the Rolling Stones Records UK album releases mean? Is it possible Ronnie Wood was somehow inspired by those combinations when composing "FUC her" in 1979? At least he was singing about some "COC teaser" in his song. Sorry, it's late and this post is S. H. one T.

You're right they actually played some US live dates in June 1964. Seems Scheveningen was just their first concert in continental Europe. But sure one of the most riotous and thus best known ones. And maybe their shortest ever.

QuoteNICOS Sorry, I just wanted to say her singing sounds like crap. Yeah but back then if you had a pretty face you sell records anyway, but on the other hand if she ask me "Let's spend the night together" I say yes The difference to today is just, today you can even have an ugly face and still sell. Just be cautious if she'll invite you to spend the night in her bathroom, babe

It was not only their first gig in Holland but also their first ever gig abroad (outside of England). As far as I remember (from reading about it) the Stones juzst played 7 minutes or something before the concert had to be ended and the interior of the hotel didn't look so nice anymore when the Stones and their fans had left the building.

Thanks, I listened to the song and I know what you mean. Seems Spider Sabich might have discussed her voice as well before being shot... or he had sung in the bathroom (better than her) before she entered with her gun... Anyway her looks are definitely much better than her vocals. Sorry, I just wanted to say her singing sounds like crap.

I'm sure most of you will know the unreleased Stones song "Claudine" which was inspired by Claudine Longets bloody shooting of her boyfriend Spider Sabich in 1976. The song exists in a shorter, more polished, and a quite different rockier long version. However, did you know Claudine Longet has not only been a shooter but also a chartbreaking singer from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s

Just for the record: Today the CD arrived. I payed € 17.99 at Amazon.de and in fact it's a set of six CD's but just one small little paper in it (no booklet) with no forther explanations. The six CD's contain a total of 400 minutes and the cover says it's a shortened, authorized version (of the original book). Of course I haven't heard the whole stuff yet, only the first CD which spans Keith

I love Keith's mother, Doris: "You're out of tune." That's one of my best memories, watching Keith in the Rossacher/Dolezal movie 1976 playing guitar. Out of tune. But always in rhythm. That's the Stones I need.

Remmlers live album "Hüh" is just great. Also I think Kralle Krawinkels one and only solo album "Kralle" (1993) is great and shows he was a much finer guitar player than you'd assume when listening to "Da da da". Of course Remmler also did some stuff that is not so very great, but how else to pay for a villa on Teneriffa, a house in Basel and to feed three children?

Well I don't know... at least the following text I found on a Roy Buchanan dedicated website (http://www.roybuchanan.org/bio.html): At some point rocker Charlie Daniels signed Roy to record a studio album for Polydor Records, and they assembled enough tracks in Nashville, but Buchanan canned the LP, complaining that Daniels had made him sound too much like everyone else (four tracks turned up

The first TRIO album is definitely rock, sometimes even punk rock. Just check it out. The stuff on it didn't sound like "Da da da" at all - the song was only added later editions. Then "Da da da" was a worldwide hit and everybody thinks that's TRIO. It is NOT. But they took the money anyway. But otherwise TRIO was only "big" in Germany. Later Remmler had some c

Quotekait German ROCK STAR Yes rock star, if you have heard the first TRIO album of 1981 and especially Remmlers albums "Vamos" (1993) and "Hüh" (live, 1994) where he had an excellent band playing with him. Of course it's GERMAN rock, but if Marius Müller Westernhagen is rock, Stephan Remmler is rock at least! We're not talking about hard rock here, though.

1. When people talk about the greatness of LAL do they mean the original version or the one with bonus tracks? They mean the original version, of course. But the new CD editions of course are the expanded ones which also contain some fillers. As an album the original is still better than the expanded edition. Less is more! Which mustn't prevent you from listening to the other stuff as well.
