Just got home from a solid show. Really wanted to see Taylor play with them for myself and that was awesome. Nice to hear a never before played song, but Emotional Rescue? A weak song from one of their weakest albums. But the crowd seemed to enjoy it. A lot of fans must originate from that era. Other than that, everyone on stage was smiling and on fire. Haven't heard Keith play so well in years,

I'm going tonight and expect to be blown away! Saw them at Staples 11 years ago on my birthday - Halloween! Wearing my Lick tour tshirt tonight, of course! Have fun to the rest of you who are going.

Their aesthetic really went out the window with this tour: gorillas, hideous tshirts. grrr. That said, I'm getting ready to leave for the show! No negativity here!

The date will come and go with no fanfare of any kind. Look, they can't even be consistent with the bootleg releases. They can't figure out a way to capitalize enormously from the anniversary without some really hard work (a tour) which they are not up to, so they won't even bother. I don't think we should expect much.

I saw one of my favorite (Dodger Stadium) and one of my least favorite (Anaheim Stadium) Stones shows of all time during this tour. But I didn't witness a club date, so this will be cool!

QuoteGlam Descendant Absolutely, Bob Clearmountaine remixed the whole shebang. It's so inexpensive I don't get why any Stones fan would hesitate to purchase. I agree. Still pinching myself to see if I'm dreaming.

Great release. My favorite of the three released so far - and not just because it was recorded in my home town, at a venue I witnessed a lot of great concerts at over the years (but not this one, sadly). I love how Mick screws up out of the gate, repeating the first verse! I'm glad they realized it wouldn't do any harm to their already firmly established reputation, and didn't replace it or rerec

Quotejammingedward I have heard the exact OPPOSITE of this rumour from a friend who is in regular contact with the big promoters here in Oz. He told me the word is that the Stones will play 6 free shows in different parts of the world as a 'Thank You' for fifty years, and that they are looking for sponsors for the events. This makes sense as Bill has been with them, but doesn't want to tour

I'm not really buying the prices he quoted either (false hope?).... After all, I paid $49.50 apiece for a "four pack" on the last tour, and that's a hell of a lot less than a $1K. Of course, the circumstances may be different this time around... the economy sucks, lots of big acts planning tours.... Just wanted to see if anyone here has heard anything similar, or put any stock in it. I'

QuoteStonesTod Quotebigbang God the bonus Some Girls disk is great - not perfect, but great. Only a couple of songs I'd consider just OK. Who needs an actual new album when we can have Tallahassee Lassie, Claudine, So Young, No Spare Parts, We Had It All, Do You Really Think I Care, You Win Again, Keep Up Blues, You Win Again. I just don't think they have it in them to come up with stuff this goo

QuoteNikolai QuoteGravityBoy I like the story concept in this vastly underrated album: It's atmospheric, weird and wonderful. Bowie and Eno... magic. But my favourite (today anyway), is Heroes. They all nearly all great though. Outside is one of my Top 5 Bowie albums. It's an incredible record. I saw the UK leg of the tour at Wembley Arena three times, and it was superb. I

QuoteRollingFreak Quotebigbang Not very active at all. Few guest appearances, in New York. Sorely missed. He went out in style, his last few albums were very good, and the 03-04 was one of his best. I agree that he sort of went out of style, but if he were announce a tour right now, he could easily sell out MSG, etc, the big arenas in a second. The only problem I see with him is time. The longer

I've posted here before that I was at the Anaheim "shoe show." It's pretty cool that it's apparently famous in some way, even mentioned fifteen or twenty years ago by Ronnie as one of his most memorable moments with the Stones in Rolling Stone. As for myself, I was very disappointed by my first Stones show. Could have been that it was a very hot day, the Stones were very late (as usual)

Just listening for the first IN MY LIFE now, have never heard or owned this bootleg. Incredible performances so far, and sound is just fine to this non-audiophile (listening through iTunes, its on my iPod and just burned a copy for the car). This is just so awesome. Giving us what we want. Who could have imagined. Yay!

I was at the "shoe" show. I was very disappointed, I must admit. The long day in the heat, the late start, the fact that the show was in the daytime, the alcohol (in the heat) probably didn't help (lol) but I do distinctly remember being entirely unimpressed with their performance.

All this talk about Mick.... Keith Richards, at one time, was the hottest Stone, hands down. Mick was cuter, but Keith was hotter. Maybe it was the guitar.... Personally, I think the Stones have a huge gay following and it has a lot to do with their music and image and showmanship, and, well, Keith.

not sure how to state this, because I don't want it to be taken negatively, since Bowie is one of my all time favorites, right up there with the Stones.... but of all the "classic" artists, if you will, who are still with us, Bowie is in my mind the most likely to just retire... call it a day... enjoy his golden years. He is a true artist, one of the best of the 20th century, but he has
