QuoteRollingFreak Interesting comparison. However, similar to the Stones, they charged $250 for top seats (at least in NY). Its hard now to make that seem like a lot of money, now with the Stones current tour, but thats ALOT. I've never paid more than $175 for a show, and I've seen all the legends. The Beach Boys are no better than anyone else. They are amazing, but their show isn't worth

Brian Jones... show a video of him playing the sitar on Paint it Black while the band plays along. The Beach Boys did it for Carl and Dennis Wilson and i thought it was excellent.

Quotebleedingman At MSG during the last tour Mick said something to the effect of "So nice to see parents here with their children. Sort of like taking them into an enormous bong!" I was there and you left out the second half of that quote! He went on to say, "to the parents, I say its great that you can share in this cultuiral expericne with your kids; to the kids i say...

a good collection of their songs, released by others, some you'll know (Otis Redding's Satisfaction) and others you wont, but are worth a listen (So Much in Love by the Inmates--much better than the Mighty Avengers version onthe link above!!).

after the Stones formed thier own label, Decca and Allen Klein put it out using material they still had control of... so it was kind of an "opening of the vaults" that the Stones had no control over themselves. Maybe not a classic, but some interesting stuff on there.

The Young One's--what a great show! Isn't "Boring" the episode with the little demons named "Orgo" and "Fetumch"?! I dont think anyone has mentioned Mad Men yet, they had an episode backstage at a Stones show trying track down Allen Klein to sign them on to do a commercial.

Quotebv I am surprised to see that many people don't see the reality here. How many other bands in this world are 70 years or older age average and perform stadium or arena tours? I don't know of any. When the Stones go on stage again we have to face the fact that the time is not on their side for many shows or many tours anymore. But we are so lucky to have them doing some more shows still.

QuoteDoomandGloom QuoteHalfNanker QuoteDoomandGloom New Yorkers are greedy, we want shows... Yankee Stadium would be great fun and a first for the boys... agreed (the NY part, not Yankee stadium--i'm a Mets fan!), though part of me hopes they skip NYC, so i dont have to go thru all the torture of not getting thru on TM and then wondering whether or not ill be able to score (afford) tix at all.

"since individually the cuts seem to stand quite well. Only when they're taken together, as a lump sum of four sides, is their impact blunted." I like this line, since most feel the complete opposite today! I loved this album from the moment I bought it (early 80s, as a young teen). At the time, I didnt realize it was considered a classic, but it was one of my favorites from d

Since this tour was only in two cities over five nights, it was probably the only tour a fan could see every show live, if you had a few extra dollars in you expendable cash fund. Other than BV (and please weigh in for us!!), can anyone compare the shows and rank them for us?? I saw the first Newark show (and the PPV of course), and from what I saw on TV, and read hear, it seemed like I m

finally got to watch the PPV i taped last week and though the Stones were great i am so happy i was at the Thursday show instead of this one...too many guests! Lady Gaga looked ridiculous in those shoes and seemed more into proving she could dance in them than she did about the song and Bruce seemed thrilled to be on stage with the stones but not necessarily to be on TV with them. He couldnt

i admit i kind of cringed when he said it...not becasue i was offended (and i live in the hear of Sand'y path), but i thought it may not be preceived as a proper joke... hopefully it will be quickly forgotten by the media.

Great show last night...i submitted a full review to BV, but having now read thru the real time comments, i'm glad to see everyone thought it was a cut above, like i did. They sounded great, no uneccessary guests, but for John Mayer who fit like glove--great version of Respectable. in a night of highlights this may have been the biggest one. How about a video of Brian Jones on sitar to open P

anyting is better than the guests at the beacon, i guess...Jack White and Christina Aquilera??? Why not stick with there own contemporaries?? Its all to sell the PPV, just like those Beacon guests were to help sell Shine a Light. having said all that, I cant wait 'til next Thursday.

notice, I didnt actually say "cheap" I would have preferred Brooklyn, for some reason i feel that will be the best of the NYC shows as I fear 12/13 will be a dress reherasal for the PPV and take less chances, but at this point beggars cant be choosers. And you are right, as i have writtne elsewhere on this baord, In '81 i thought $34 bucks for tix as MSG was crazy and 8 years late

I'm just going to love seeing how they extricate themselves from this PR mess. Will they cancel the show? Leave it half empty? Slash prices? This is pure entertainment. They will give the tickets away rather than face the embarrassment of playing to th
