QuoteThrylan Tele and I had a lengthy debate last night, and I came up with a fitting analogy, I think...... I have been married to Ronnie for almost forty years. We have had ups and downs, alcohol, bum notes, good and bad records, etc...... I walk into the bar, and there is MT. We had great sex back in high school, but the relationship didn't last. I could get swept up by his flash, but then

QuoteThrylan QuoteJumpinJeppeFlash It's good but i still think MT is oversoloing here. It doesn't really sound as it did when they recorded it. Best version in my opinion is MSG 2003 or maybe SDF 2007 when Ronnie plays the solo. .....and Micks harp solo, he nailed the original. His harp solo sin't actually so good, not for Mick's ability but just because he used to choose an harmonica tuning

QuoteLongBeachArena72 You guys are funny. Old dudes now play 40-year-old songs slightly better with an ex-member than they had been playing them w/o him. And even this slightly better level is woeful when compared to their heyday. They are--pure and simple--a nostalgia act. It's fun to seem them try to re-enact their salad days; it's a gas to glimpse little moments now and then which re

Quote71Tele Quotethijs1981 F U C K ! They sound exciting! Taylor sounds hot and he fires up the whole band. It looks like genuine surprise on everybody's part. "Hey, we can still make MUSIC instead of just performing" Heartwarming to see and hear the audience is actually very interested in these songs and in the solos. Hope they take the time to keep playing these so they will

"If You Can't Rock Me" would do it for me. However, "Get Off Of My Cloud" sounds nice as well.

Yeah, not so many bum notes. Second solo was much better indeed. Shame, however, that the rhythm guitar kind of disappeared in favour of Chuck's keyboards...

QuoteValeswood QuoteSWAYZ Worst train wreck? Easy. The Bigger Bang tour. Pick any show. You obviously did not attend the O2 shows in 2007. Yeah, apart form Keith's solo in "You Got Me Rocking" on the third night (August 26th)!!

"Happy", Werchter 2007 deserves a mention in this thread.

QuoteHis Majesty QuoteWild Slivovitz If memory serves, on that tune Jagger plays a B harmonica. Anyway, it's not a tecnically very difficult part to play, so I'm pretty much sure that Mick could easily pull it off live, too. Maybe it doesn't appeal to him anymore, but it would be very nice to hear, wouldn't it? F# Ok I'll make a double check, maybe you're right. Update: according to Win

As much as I love Mick as a lyricist, I also think that in his statement Tim Rice kind of overestimated him.

Quoteliddas I can remember Keith having to start Shelter twice in London B2B tour (2nd night) C Same for Rough Justice in Budapest 2007. In that year of course the Werchter show is remarkable as far as screw-ups are concerned.

Well, after all is very common for musicians not to listen a lot to their own music.

in Brno 2007 it turned out live very well. Maybe in the Vodoo Lounge tour it was underwhelming, though.

QuoteDandelionPowderman It's a D-harp, sorry. It's open G-tuning, but the song is in A. D harp. Absolutely correct.

Anyone got info on how long will they play @ Hide Park? Someone say the set will be much shorter. Usually festival concerts are 90mts long, but maybe a special stipulation has been settled for the Stones. Any information on this? Thank you!

The defendant will be there represented by her lawyer, and of course if I were in her shoes I wouldn't come back to Italy to attend the trial, you know just in case... anyway this procedure is perfectly lawful here in Italy, and sure it has not been invented specifically for Ms. Knox's trial. That being said, I'm definitely sure that the judgement of the Court will not be politically driven.

Problem is that you relate to this issue as if it were a political one. But, on the contrary, it all revolves around strictly juridical matters, relating to the motivation of the sentence. I'm quite surprised that you guys relate to this event just from a political point of view, when it really isn't the case.

Quotepaulywaul Quotewith sssoul [ waving at keefed :E ] and that reminds me: Budapest 2007 was the hottest day in history or something, wasn't it? I think Beast & BarRoomQueen & Kahoosier were there for that one, I recall getting texts from them describing the heat ... indeed t'was a tad warm !! Wasn't it something insane, like about 40 deg C ? I was there as well (hello Arpad!), an
