Quotestonesrule Johnny, Thanks for the Great Photos...PERFECT FOR A STONES LIVE ALBUM! Indeed, thanks for posting them - it would be ever so cool if you could list the photographers at the same time! (I'm grateful that you post the links so we can research it ourselves, but I'm afraid most people don't bother.) Those fantastic pit shots with the "scribbly frame" effect are apparentl

Quote "With the Stones, there's something genius about not having to listen to a record over and over again and you still don't hear it all." ... huh? Isn't there one "not" too many in that sentence? I can't coax it to make any sense.

QuoteThrylan You mentioned you are a guitar geek right? Cool, I am too, not like you or a buddy of mine, but knowledgeable......thanks for the insight........Wouldn't you love to play one of the old stolen Newman-Jones 5 string customs??? I would! Curious.......5 strings, 3 fingers, 2 chords, 1 @#$%&, right? It's "five strings, three notes, two fingers and one arsehole to play it" -

Nope. He wasn't there. His recollections are of seeing Mick and Charlie on their way to see the June 1969 Hyde Park concert with Blind Faith.

QuoteThrylan ... when I see the 335 ... Keith's black ES is a 355. I love the way Keith makes that one sing too, but Keith behind an LP is say-hallelujah time in my house - especially if its a Junior

QuoteLadykiller Thank you! That means, that the stage must be in the middle south of Hyde Park. Southeast I believe.

I love those Juniors! (The ones Keith has aren't blondes, though - they're TV yellow) There's a thread all about them around here somewhere ... ah here it is: (For gear questions, run a search for "Ratbag Boogie" - that's the name of iorr's very educational Guitar Thread Index)

Well since it's "obviously a Custom" I reckon we can ask bv to merge this thread with the Keith's Custom Tele thread: - is that okay with you, Dandelion P?

As HM says, Ronnie's remembering the Blind Faith concert a month earlier, bless him. Mick and Charlie attended that, no doubt in part to check out the set-up for their upcoming show and in part to check out Blind Faith. Who wouldn't?! And that goes for Ronnie as well.

Thanks JJackFL and bv for directing me to that site! I would've missed the Rolling Stones' 1968 Asian Tour otherwise - charmed I'm sure! :E

QuoteMax'sKansasCity As a rule of thumb.... Dont let The Stones make you angry. I say: Let them, and admire it! The Stones get everybody's goat sooner or later - it's a genuine talent they have. When it's someone else's goat they're getting (the parents', for a classic instance) we rejoice, little suspecting perhaps that they will get ours too someday, in ways we never anticipated. Like I

QuoteDandelionPowderman All the copies are sped-up, but the PAL-versions even more. The sound is bad in the film, so there isn't anything wrong with your copy, I presume... Yep - every version of it I've ever seen (including the version called Rocks Off) was sped up, out of synch and clumsily edited. We expect more nowadays, but back then it was primo stuff.

QuoteGlammy What irritated me was the term "was" in the first sentence of the Wikipedia entry: Rocky Dzidzornu, also known as Rocky Dijon, was an African percussionist. For the record, when something on wikipedia needs correcting, you can wade right in and correct it. I just fixed that sentence, for example.

I'm pretty sure you're misunderstanding, melilo dear. The poster meant "the process of exchanging already-purchased $85 tickets for tickets with seat assignments has started" - not "they're handing out extra $85 tickets". Not that it matters now, but the process started an hour earlier than expected. That, I think, was the point of the thread.

Quotebluesinc. he´s a caricature of himself Nope, he's exactly Chuck Berry, and no one else is (except for the good CBII, of course!) It would be momentous for him to appear, but it sure doesn't seem likely.

Oh wow - is that the stuff that was aired?! All I've ever seen is the raw footage, outtakes etc. Fascinating as that is, I've always wondered what the broadcast version was like. Thanks!
