I genuinely like Harlem Shuffle, Too Rude, Back To Zero, Dirty Work, Had It With YOu, and Sleep Tonight. One Hit to the Body has great guitar work. Hold Back has a wonderful finish. The Winning Ugly 12" single is more interesting than the LP track. Fight has the same guitar break as on Too Tough on UNDERCOVER. Those are the positive things I can say about the album.

It's just Randy Hansen in blackface again. Expect complaints.

I think Crumbling Mice's point is the studio recording is very much a two-guitar assault (Keith and Mr. Taylor) as it was when played live in 1972 and 1973. The live performances since then have never matched what was accomplished initially. From the STEEL WHEELS tour on, it's mainly been a song for the horns and little else.

Ronnie was playing a gig with the Jeff Beck Group in the States when the Stones played Hyde Park. With Sssoul's answer is probably spot on. Either that or Ronnie is delusional.

Well signing with Columbia meant outside producers and back-up singers for Mick solo and the Stones. It's a fair bet the tour would have included back-up singers as well. You would have had Chuck on board of course. The Uptown Horns had played on the DW sessions so its probable they would have been along as well. I suspect we would have had the Vegas years three years early just a bit rougher

Was he being "punk" at Les Abbatoirs and Earl's Court? I thought he just had a bad case of too much coke and couldn't articulate properly. It's even funnier if it was deliberate.

I think this calls for retaliation. Once one critic's severed head is impaled on a spike, the others will quickly fall in line.

QuoteSend It To me I'll never be your pizza burnin' That made me laugh. My kids used to hear "Hot Stuff" as "Pasta - can't get enough." Changes the whole damn song. Then of course there was their deliberate mishearing of "Might As Well Get Juice" which they used in restaurants whenever possible. Speaking of Mick's pronunciations what about the way "jewel&q

QuoteHairball I was at the show where Axl warned Slash about abusing "Mr. Brownstone". Was this the same show as the racial remarks? I remember hearing about that incident. I don't think they were the same shows, but maybe the same week. If I remember right they came through LA twice on that tour and played 4-6 dates between two different venues. Is that right? Obviously, I'm too

The story I had heard was Mick and Ronnie wanted Doug, Keith wanted Pino, and Charlie wanted Darryl. The way to settle it was Keith's suggestion that Charlie's vote counted most. I don't know if it's true, but the person who told me claimed it was the only way to settle the argument since Ronnie sided with Mick, the only alternative Mick would accept was neither he nor Keith getting their choice.

I don't get it myself. Sure, I'd prefer more Taylor, but I thought she was fine as guests go. I've sure as hell seen worse onstage with this band. Plus, her routine was more like late seventies Linda Ronstadt (not as good a voice, though). I was expecting her usual theatrics (like Lady Gaga did) and gratefully, we didn't get them. No, it was a long way from the best version of the song, but it su

QuoteHairball Axl's fault that Living Colour was a nightmare? lol. I was just expressing my personal opinion regarding Living Colour > nightmare. Glad you enjoyed them. For what it's worth, G'N'R were also a nightmare. I don't know which of the LA shows you saw, but one of them Axyl made racist remarks and there was apparently bad blood between the bands after that point. That's all I m

Wasn't that really Axyl's fault? I saw Living Colour open for them in Cleveland on that tour and thought they did fine.

There may be a reason for sticking with these two numbers. For one thing, there are certainly less bathroom breaks if Keith sticks to up tempo numbers.

Jagger brought Fogerty in to add handclaps to "Tallahassie Lassie" when he and Don Was were out in LA putting together the SOME GIRLS bonus disc. Keith was nowhere in sight. Mick has also spoken favorably of listening to CCR when they were cutting EXILE. As far as I could tell, Keith didn't go near Fogerty when they were playing. Same thing at the Hall of Fame induction cermonies in 198

They're only 1400 miles apart. Relatively close in some respects. It does appear Rocky's last album credit was for Herbie Hancock in 1981. I really couldn't say if the sixties footage made him look younger than just a year older than Bill. Maybe the guy that emailed me was putting me on, but there is someone who shares his name living in California. I'd like to think he's still around, but yo

Nothing that couldn't be fixed with a hammer and chisel. Gazza is not banned, he just needs some time alone to work things out. He still loves us very much, but he needs his space. We need to respect that. The Irish bring a lot of baggage. I think it's about the potatoes.
