My review: Mick's voice sounds nothing like 73 or 78 in my opinion. It's thiner, has almost no growl, but he uses it extremely well and reaches high notes which he's not reached in years or ever - very impressive and enjoyable. As for his dancing and body language, I thought he was more relaxed, less forced than on the previous three shows (based on poor youtube vids), and therefore excellent.

Yes, Ronnie was brilliant! Very creative and hot on the fills and licks and tweets and twists and turns, I love his style when he's on.

2 songs in: Ronnie plays insanely hot stuff on UMT and Whip, never heard him so fired up, brilliant! His peculiar style, his crazy funkiness shines through, I'm loving it!

QuoteGravityBoy It's exciting. The puppet on the left finger of the right hand got re-elected and the puppet on the right finger of the right hand didn't. I could crush a grape. It's all thanks to Mick. lol I so agree! Well, I dislike Obama less than I dislike Romney, but I feel for Americans : it must be hard to have to choose between the financial lobby and the weapons & oil lobb

Quoteliddas Quoteotonneau All Down The Line: Jagger hits the high notes with amazing force, I know no other 1995-2007 version where he does it like this, just as good (although different in "tone" as 72. Love it! Unfortunately the riff is full of holes... I know I can't argue with you on the quality of Jagger's vocal delivery, but I truly don't hear any holes in the guitar section. We

All this of course does not mean that those who loved the show should now throw their memories away! I remember having a similar experience when listening to the wonderful concert of Ken Boothe in Paris, years ago: the concert was amazing, a truly priviledged moment, but on tape it sounded awful. I agree with stoneage that not having to run around surely benefits Jagger. On stadium shows, if y

Guitar department is great? I hear no intro that isn't shaky. The basic riffs - SMU, HTW - are fine and groovy, but JJF, TD, the intro to Dance, the solo on WAY I find very poor. ENSTL sounds like any patchy pub band... I don't believe Jagger is being "carried" by the band at all. There are many shows from this era when you'll hear him go "Come on Ronnie" or whatever and t

Also on CYHMK: he goes for the "CAN'T you hear" fearlessly, breaks his voice in the process. One gets the feel that this performance was ment to stay: it's not just Jagger-to-watch but Jagger to listen to. Very, very hot. As for the band: whatever we say about the sidemen, they form one hell of a band - the break of Dance pt1 is amazingly good, drums and whistles and voices, surely t

It's one of these rare nights when the Jag sings the high note on HTW chorus, for instance. Great version, too.

A generous fan has uploaded the soundboard recording of Cirkus Krone; what a night for Jagger! I think one of the most amazing performances I've heard from him. That's how strong, Stray Cat, even tired war horses like BS: he's really SINGING and Rocking like a powerfouse. Loved it! But the guitars, dear me, what a pity - they ruin the night and I guess that's why we got Olympia and not Krone on F

QuoteRichard from Canada Hey Olivier. Nice to see you in this forum again. I think it's been awhile. Hey Richard, we're the old guard! I still read occasionnally but what more is there to say about the Stones? I have not much to contribute, although obviously the new tour draws my attention - only to irritate me I'm afraid, so that i just spout leftwing propaganda that gets deleted, heh! It

Quotedrbryant I don't have anything against the band playing private shows. In many ways, it's somehow suitable for the digital age. It recalls the days of the Troubador, going from town to town, playing for his living. Handel would have never written Water Music if he wasn't being paid by King Whatever the Whatever to prepare a performance on barges floating past his majesty. Remember that ol

Quoteproudmary As a person who was born and raised in the Soviet Union - I say it as diplomatically as possible - I'm sick of your socialist bs I understand you boycott the exhibitions of Picasso, Dali or Chagall because in their old years they have received millions for any sketch, you do not read Count Tolstoy, because he was a landlord and a millionaire, you ignore Lennon who sang Working

Quotejohn lomax Ticket prices are as high as the market will bear. If they are too high, then people won't pay. But it looks like plenty of people are prepared to pay those prices, and so I think that the Stones and their promoters hVe judged the market well. I wish prices were lower, but thats life. The Stobes aren't under any obligation to perform for free or at some knock- down price. They ar

Turdontherun, I know lots of greedy leftists too. A tread like this stinks of "if you don't have money you're a bum" or like the other sucker said, "you should have saved". Reminds me of recent comments in America. Anyway I don't care if I jumped to conclusion, as my logic is clear as crystal: if you believe that offer-and-demand is the only rule by which one should live, you

Perhaps you believe you're left wing. You don't even know what it means. I know your kind and I know it's pointless to argue with morons like you but all the same you should know - YOU started this thread with your disgusting pride in making mondey, YOU brag about your @#$%& dollars and want people to know you're rich, and can't even let them voice their natural complain that it seems so obvious

Disliked it at first, love it now. And the amazing thing: it's actually the LYRICS that made me love it - now when was the last time this was the case? The lyrics and Jagger's fabulous delivery. Favourite line: "Hear a funky noise? It's the tightening of the screws" Brilliant!

So I'll contradict myself now. Aside from the obvious fact that to put out 2 songs every five years is not quite enough to say that a band is "working", I actually think that Doom & Gloom (which left me cold at first) tops anything on Tempest by a dozen miles. The lyrics are just so much fun! "Lost all the treasure in an overseas war, just goes to show you don't get what you

Sad sad sad... re-read your posts and mine, and perhaps you'll see where the witch-hunt is: in Armstrong accusing everybody of plotting his downfall and being jealous and whatnot (for which he has NO evidence), and NOT in the USADA presenting a detailed and argued 1000 pages report. As for our conversation, you are accusing me of being anti-US and a witch-hunter, while I've not accused you of

Read my posts and they will show you that it's clearly not an EU vs US issue in my view. Paradoxically, you are accusing an AMERICAN justice body and trusting a EUROPEAN body (the UCI), but you accuse ME of being anti-American? Come on now, you think the AMERICAN USADA has an agenda against Armstrong but the EUROPEAN UCI is fair and square with him? But you think I, as a european who clearly stat

Oh no it's not the top of the list - politics and economics being off-limit on this board I cannot number my priorities. Armstrong comes maybe at number 25 000 on that list. But if we discuss Armstrong, then let's do it rationally and face facts. Now, I could return your point: there is so much shit going on, so many people being cheated and robbed - of their home, their jobs, their basic rights,
