QuoteRokyfan isn't Lady jane one of the weakest songs in their catalog? Does rarity really trump everything else? I would rather hear almost anything from their first albums, through Aftermath, than Lady Jane. So many great songs there (covers and originals). No, it does not. Nice as it was to hear it in London, lots of other songs they've performed since blow that away I think. Various vers

QuoteRobertJohnson Okay, the point is: We want Mick Taylor on at least more than two songs. New thread, please ... Of course sticky ... Why new thread ? As for sticky, the only place the message theme of this thread ought to be stuck is on Mick Jagger's forehead !!

QuoteRollingFreak Mick Taylor should get 3 songs in the main set, and the whole encore. Thats the bottom line. Give him Rambler or a different special song, and then have him up there also for Brown Sugar and Sympathy For The Devil/Tumbling Dice. He is well known to have played on those songs (either live or in the studio) and playing on about 5 songs total is worth it for his legacy. In that way

Take it from a Londoner ............ Marble Arch to the north & Hyde Park to the south. Either way, you're looking at a very few minutes' walk from each station. I guess if you're entering the site through the Tier 3 gate, Marble Arch would be your marginally closer tube station, for Tiers 1 & 2 & the VIP bollocks - Hyde Park.

QuoteRollingFreak Who would care enough to pay the Sons Of The Beatles. Thats a rip off concert if I ever heard one. You'd think they all want to be independent enough to not live off that legacy anyway. Well, you'd LIKE to think that, yes. Personally, having seen what Julian Lennon has got to offer, not to mention James McCartney ....... I'd be hard pushed to think of something that I could be

Quotebv Don't under-estimate the crowd. I am pretty sure everybody do know who Mick Taylor is. Not underestimating at all, but in all fairness ....... there probably HAS to be SOME proportion of people in attendance at these shows that are maybe taking advantage of $85 tickets or perhaps otherwise taking the plunge and seeing this band for the first time and that might not be familiar with the

Hmm ....... probably not that good really, apart from anything else it would make you awfully FAT !!! But, Mick Taylor on perhaps THREE songs, now that would definitely NOT make you fat, and it woul

Bjornulf, why have you UNSTUCK this thread ? Given that we're down to just thirteen shows left in the States, and then only the two Hyde Park ones ......... time is gradually slipping away for a greater Mick Taylor contribution. Can you raise the profile of this thread once again by making it a sticky ?

QuoteGreen Lady Honda Center, Anaheim: May 15 2013 SET LIST Tonight the Rolling Stones played the Honda Center in Anaheim where they were joined on stage by guitarist John Mayer for Muddy Waters’ ‘Champagne And Reefer’. The show marked the first time on this tour that the song ‘Waiting On A Friend’ was played. Mick Taylor once again played ‘Midnight Rambler’ and ‘(I Can’t Get

I haven't seen any of the 2013 shows as yet, and probably won't see any of the N American ones, only the 2 Hyde Park ones. But I did see all five in 2012, and for me there's two numbers that stood out: 1 - Respectable with John Mayer in Newark on 13th December 2012 2 - Dead Flowers in Newark on 15th December 2012 In the case of 1 - it was sheer musicianship. Mayer's contribution was phenom

Quotedrbryant It's not as bad as it looks. Anaheim is much better than staples for nosebleeds I was way early for a show once at London's O2 Arena, and out of curiosity my friend and I went up to the top level in there to see what the view of the stage was like. AWFUL, just plain AWFUL. Not to mention how steep the rake of the seats is. We fled for our lives, back to the sanity of the floor bl

I was in the pit for the Brooklyn show, standing on Ronnie's side just to the left of Mick's mike stand as you're facing the stage, and in the second row ........ that's to say directly behind the person actually leaning on the rail itself. Spectacular all round views, to be experienced if only the once.
