QuoteflacnvinylAlso one of the BEST SOUNDING Stones albums. Perfect sound mix. Interesting. I like the songs of the album. Especially Dance, the title track, Down In The Hole, Let Me Go, She's So Cold and All About You. Great mixture of Rock, Blues, contemporary Pop and outlaw ballads. But the sound is too thin for me. No comparison to Tattoo You or Black and Blue.

QuoteThe slow sales of the last tour proved to me that theyve milked the 'box ticker' part of the market dry.Yeah. And they milked the black ticket market dry that way.

I'm afraid, record buyers are not interested in the Stones anymore. They look for best ofs like Forty Licks, but they don't want to listen to new stuff. And that's why the setlists are so conservative. That's a pity, I would have prefered six or seven ABB songs every night.

Now you can read every SPIEGEL article since 1947 online and for free. 1995: "Haben die Rolling Stones auf ihrer gerade zu Ende gegangenen "Voodoo Lounge"-Welttournee ihre Fans getäuscht und nicht immer live gespielt?" (Did the Stones cheat their fans?) And... 1996: "Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts und Ron Wood spielen eben wirklich live." (T

Anyone really think the "todger comment" ruined the chances for a 2011 tour ? No. Interviews or books never had an impact on the relationship inside the band. Remeber the 80s? In that time the team spirit had gone, because of Mick feeling uncomfortable in this band. Keith's reaction was among other things to give hard interviews. But these interviews didn't change anything. The sa

If the Stones had split after Exile... ... then I wouldn't have attended a Stones concert and so I wouldn't have become a Stones fan or maybe even Rock and Roll fan.

To me it's one of the highlights of Steel Wheels. It's loud, powerful, angry, short and simple. And the sound quality is much better than on Dirty Work. This intro of Mick's main riff and Keith's crying guitar is terrific.

1st: Les Trois Tetons Italian bluesrock band. They play (Stones) covers and own material. And they kick ass. 2nd: AC/DC Everybody knows them. Let There Be Rock was the definite bluesrock heaven.

QuoteNimrod Ronnie was pretty much MIA on this tour and Keith had to cover more ground than he may have otherwise. Please help me: What does MIA mean? Missing in action? I agree then. Ron hid behind everyone. I like the first half of the St. Louis concert very much. Keith nailed the solo in Satisfaction and he was the riff master in Flip The Switch. Awesome. Wanna Hold You sounds fresh and jo

Open D Use that tab, listen to the song and try to play the guitar simultaneously. I was able to play the song that way within 15 minutes. It's really fun to do, but I don't like to change the tuning for just one song.

You try to convice other people. You'll fail. If I would like to listen to a new Stones record, then I would like to listen to a new Stones record. And there is nothing *you* can do. It's the Stones' decision to make a new album or not.

They don't make much money with the reissues anyway. They make money with touring.

19 songs, 110 minutes. 18 songs, 105 minutes. As usual, the setlists will be shorter when they leave the US and come to Europe. Jagger stresses his voice more than McCartney or Neil Young. The Stones sound is heavier Rock 'n' Roll with maximum one ballad, so the vocals are sung louder. Jagger has to take care of his voice, but after some months it's getting hard, I guess. Charlie's sta

For me it's not a gem, I like it though. It has a nicely romantic atmosphere, quiet acoustic guitar, lovely harmonies between Jagger, Richards and jazzy Watts. It's like sitting outside, in the dark, after having BBQ, staring at the fire... then pick up the guitar and enjoy yourself.

QuoteFather Ted If bands were paid so badly by the record companies back then, how were Jagger et al able to afford large country houses and Bentleys? Nellcote cost in the region of £1000 per week in 1971 - who was paying the bills if the Stones were allegedly so poor? Jagger/Richards songwriter credits.

QuoteDuane in Houston I was driving through the countryside last evening when PMS came on my FM radio. After about 20 seconds I was absolutely cringing at the gawd awful vocals Mick put on this otherwise decent song. Can he not sing At All anymore? Just listen to the stuff 1994 onwards. Listen to Bridges To Babylon, Goddess In The Doorway, Alfie, A Bigger Bang, Charmed Life and the Exile bonus s

A great clip indeed. But to be honest, things haven't changed that much. Check out the Four Flicks DVD set and watch Extreme Western Grip or Well Well. It's the same jamming mood (the songs were not finished though).

Ballads are fine, but rockers are great. The Stones use a mixture of different styles, but listen to the first 3 seconds of a song and you know exactly: It's a Stones song. That's unique. They square the circle.

Every version of Shattered is powerful, aggressive, loud, cool and fast. Until 1982. Since 1989 they play it too slowly and too well-behaved. So, to me it's one of just a few tracks that doesn't work in these days anymore.
