and of course we couldn't have a rolling stones fish thread without and old joke: "A fish goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that the teller's name is Patricia Whack. So he says, "Ms. Whack, I'd like to get a loan to buy a boat and go on a long vacation .” Patti looks at the fish in disbelief and asks how much he wants to borrow. The fis

You're welcome Straycat. To me, not at all saying this is the correct interpretation, I think the "love, sister, is just a kiss away" is simply an offer/appeal to the ladies from Mick. World falling apart but hey, i've got some love for you, how bout we weather the storm together (making love) or whatever. A very 60s response and also I presume many young males and females were per

An addendum to my prior post. This is from a wikipedia entry regarding "Gimmie Shelter": "On the recording of the album, Jagger said in a 1995 interview with Rolling Stone, "Well, it's a very rough, very violent era. The Vietnam War. Violence on the screens, pillage and burning. And Vietnam was not war as we knew it in the conventional sense..." On the song itself, he

Here's a snippet from record review which contains comments from Mick about "Gimmie Shelter": "“Gimmie Shelter” sends a political message, as Jagger vocalizes the need for shelter from the coming storm of worldly devastation and destruction. In his own words he put it: "That's a kind of end-of-the-world song, really. It's apocalypse; the whole record's like that."

My guess would be at one of the two largest venues would be Commonwealth Stadium (American football stadium) in Lexington KY which holds 70,000 plus or Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in Louisville KY which holds 45,000 plus. I guess they could possibly return to Churchill Downs but the set up was not ideal for a concert there. Reading between the lines the comment about every stadium being poss

Hi Drake, I live in KY as well and have seen the boys many times (Churchill Downs concert was my 31st) and I thoroughly enjoyed your Columbus OH recording (I was there as well) that you posted last year. The quality was extraordinary. In another message I surmise that you recorded the CD concert and but I'm unable to access it. But i'm quite techno-challenged. I'd like you to somehow proc

Debra commented on drunks spilling beer all over her. She never complained about dancing, screaming, enjoying the show. It seems her initial post has been twisted into a tirade against dancing, yelling, enjoying your ass off at a stones concert. Just to clarify that was not at all her point. Likewise i am totally for dancing and screaming one's ass off at a stones concert. I'm all fo

I enjoy Bernard dueting with Keith on "The Worst" but i don't recall that on prior tour. I'm just curious if it's simply a nice touch that the band initiated or if for some reason Keith thinks he needs a little assistance with the song. I'm guessing it's just because they're putting a little twist to it but if anyone knows for certain i'd appreciate any info. Thanks in advance. Stua

I myself am bewildered at people who get half if not completely drunk at rolling stones concerts. At a concert not like ago in front and to my side the alcohol was flowing and it was obvious but last night in Atlanta not the case. At least where I was. I refrain from drinking at stones concerts in part because i dont want to have to miss part of the show to go piss. Especially given the

First of all a snippet from Ed Beaver's review of the Atlanta concert last night. "Rain Fall Down" was great and funky. Kind of "Miss You" touch to it. The singing guitar riff running through the song looked like it was coming from Mick's guitar but some times it was being played even if Mick did not play the guitar. There were three other guitars on stage including Blondie
