Jagger is doing ok in my ears, but my God, listen to those guitars, terrible. what are they trying to play? Anyway, they tried.

Well, I just listened to Oakland, recording in great sound quality. Both Ronnie and Keith are musically laughing stock.

Just listened to Oakland from a near excellent dime upload. Was shocked to hear how bad/out of tune/hardly any good playing etc. both guitarists sounded. Was tough for Jagger to 'save' the whole gig with help from D.Jones and Chuck (although not a fan of his styloe playing, at least he played in tune...). In 98/99 Wood was completely out of it but Richard somehow could save his ass. Last tour

In great form? I think that is exegerrated. Based on my listenings to excellent sounding recordings from both London shows I cannot judge it more than 'mediocre' Espec both Keith and Ronnie are just 'so so'. Charlie has played better at former tours but as usual it is Jagger lifting up the level. Take à listen again now à few months after the hype and I am curious if people have different

Saw three out of five shows in A'dam - fos . Ronnie sucked heavily, he hardly touched his guitar for the whole show, just clowned around. Keith was still rather ok. The b-stage was most fun with Crazy Mama if I remember correctly.

Haha. The prices were simply not what I want to pay for these days Stones. I just bought my self in Tokyo for more than $500 worth of great Tarantura and EV bootlegs / beautifully packed from seventies LZ, Clapton, and early eighties Iron M and the Priest, what is worth all penny for me. And yes, I have an excellent audience recording from the first day and a very good one from the 2nd d

I know it is not 78 or 81/82 anymore but after all I heard after the London gigs I had a bit more expectations... Glad I did not go after all, although I had many changes to buy first class tickets for 'regular' prices with my Amex

well, whether to your ears it is a 'twisted mix' or not, the guitars sound very clear. And they suck to my opinion. Both Keith and Ronnie.

I agree. Never understood all the hype here on the website about these crazy overpriced gigs. Also much too positive reviewd in my opinion. Even Mathijs! Listen to these boots with an objective ear and you will be greatly disappointed. No 2013 tour please, just keep releasing gigs from the archives until 1982.

Just purchased in Tokyo the Empress Valley of the first two gigs in london: I prefer it compared to the Godfather release which I have with me on by business travel: more clear sound in general guitars and drums more up in front Very reasonable priced for a EV release: approx. $40 for a 4CD simple package/comparable with GF. Where as I paid $240,- for the new perfect Led Zepp 6 CD 77 soundb

I remember going to Ronnie his Budokan gig in 1993. Fully packed / it rocked. So far I was never able to get my hands on a recording. However, during my business trip to Japan this time I accidentely jumped into the following CD-R 4CD release by Uxbridge: Slide on Live Japan Tour 1993 Osaka 10-1-1993 excellent recording. Budokan 14-1-1993 very good recording Probably old news as this was

i have no info if the first gig (espec. that one is excel. audience) will still be released by a Jap.label, considering all what has been released already. I prefer this audience rec. much more than the GF release because of its clear sound and good balance of all instruments. Not that I think the Stones perform that great musically....

I just listened to another(audience) recording of the 1st show, would rate it at least 9/10. Will have a listen from the 2nd show later. Shows may also be released on silver.

An superb recording of the 1st gig will come, and also a better version than the current one of the 2nd night very likely. Likely first through 'official' bootleg channels. And than I am not refering to any Japanese tapers who might have been recording...

By far, the vaults. But please don;'t mess with the original material like they did with the Exile outtakes.

Whether you like them or not, both Springsteen and U2 also deserve to be mentioned as competitors for the other bands mentioned here.

In Japan 'no label' released The Hague '76 May 30 from a new source in likely very good sound. Anyone listened to it/any comments? DAC released a lot of well known 76-79 wellknow outtakes. Anyone knows if these titles are a real upgrading in sound? Espec as they also already release Place Pigalle 4Cd a few yrs ago in great quality....

it seems that both 2009 and 2010 were no interesting years for Stones fans when it comes to new discovered live material or studio outtakes. All releases seem to contain material that has been out there before. Correct? Was one of the Scotland 81 gigs the very last interesting 'new' discoveries?

\I think it is a bad joke to add new lyrics and/or guitars to outtakes from the vault. And than to keep foggy what has really been done in the studio. Better had not released these EOM vaults is my opinion. Luckily there are Bruce and Dylan who really know how to please their hard core fans.

Recently DAC released a lot of outtakes releases. To me it seems all the same old stuff (lots of it released by themselves in Plage Pigalle for ex.) However, does anybody has a different opinion about it? Is it worth to buy?

You are right about Detroit Erik. However, Collectors Review mentions 16 songs from Detroit, what seems the complete gig to me. Bonus songs like Satisfaction come from other shows like Oakland etc in audience quality. Any one knows for sure whether Detroit is complete or not on this release?
