Huge DBT fan. Caught them three times here in Columbia, Missouri. Cooley is a wonderful songwriter, and Hood ain't bad either. The band's really been cooking lately. Also, The Dirty South is a GREAT album. Brighter Than Creation's Dark is their Exile On Main Street.

Roger Giffin? I know he did some work with Pete Townshend/Alan Rogan in the early 80's, too.

Love me some JT. Would've loved to have heard what he would've come out with if he hadn't croaked.

TeddyB1018, you know Mick Jones? Do tell the story. The Clash are my favorite band.

I kinda wished it sounded more like it did on the 12/12/12 concert. Lose the keys and the backing vocalists.

The Gaslight Anthem. Love Springsteen, love The Clash, and they're evident in this band, but they leave me real cold. They try WAY too hard to write like Bruce. People LOVE this band. I almost can't stand them. I should love Leonard Cohen, but he does nothing for me. I've tried, and I just can't get into it.

Met Joe Walsh before an Eagles show here in Columbia, MO a few years ago. I was a senior in high-school--just switching from playing bass to playing guitar. I was a "big punk rocker," ha-ha, so I HATED (and still don't like) the Eagles. ANYWAY, me and my best friend, also a guitarist, are in one of the local guitar shops, gawking at what we can't afford. I was playing a Fender Jazzm

Didn't get all the hype about "The Velvet Undergound & Nico," until I got to college, and damn if that album doesn't sound AMAZING when played in a dorm room.

Bringing back a dead thread here, but does anyone have the index of all the Stones guitar gear, with Ronnie's, Jagger's, Taylor's, Jones' and Richards' guitars?

Drive By Truckers. Got something for everybody. They're a little country, a lot of rock, some soul.... Check out from them: Three Dimes Down Gravity's Gone Marry Me Outfit Daddy Learned To Fly Mercy Buckets Nine Bullets Used To Be A Cop ...and tons more really, but those are my favorites.

My best friend has a Casino, and I've played it a few times, and it kicks ass. Gary Clark Jr. plays a lot of them.

Who plays bass on "Hide You Love"? I assumed it was Keith, it does't sound like Bill.... Love the bass roll on that.

Man, it's gotta be Emotional Rescue. Summer Romance, Down In The Hole, Send It To Me hell, even Dance is good for the heat. Really, that's a pretty good summer album.

I'm pretty sure that's Jeff Beck playing with Keith on this particular version. His playing was wiped off the Tattoo You version. I think Pete Townshend also did backing vocals on the Tattoo You version too.

Hmmm...live Doom & Gloom...I'm pretty sure Mick played rhythm on the studio recording, but this live one sounds more like Keith. Of course, I may be wrong totally.

I like the album too. It's almost the most "mature" album the Stones ever did. And that's not a totally bad thing. I'd like another album like it. Comparing it to the Big Four is pushing it, though.

I always thought it was weird that they were called the J.Geils Band. He didn't write or sing, and he wasn't necessarily the dominant instrumentalist.

I have no beef against Chuck, but I wish he'd back off some. However, I'd be fully for Ian MacLagan being the keys man on this next tour.

Never did much for me. Brian Fallon seems to try too hard to ape Springsteen, in his songwriting and vocals. There is, and should only be, one Bruce.

Hey, I'm 22, and I forget shit when I'm playing guitar. A few old bandmates of mine and myself went our seperate ways after high school, but every summer when everyone's home again, we play a show or two of old songs we used to play "back in the day" (ha-ha). Of the origional numbers we do, I wrote a good part of the music for, and I have to re-learn them like everyone else (especially

Count me all in for a Jack White produced Stones album. Trendy? Probably, but it'll age well. His stuff with the White Stripes will stand up, and the Loretta Lynn album is amazing.
