Quoteroby If you compare 2013 Anaheim to this 1972 video you may at once focus on the key diference...Bill Wyman. I will never get tired of being convinced about Bill's contribution to the stones sound. Darryl is technically thousands years far away from Bill. OK. He played with Miles Davis. Ok. He is a great player.ok. He does his best. Ok. But...Bill's is irreplaceable. His sound is

Hypothesis: MT was expelled from the band. Keith was at the time in the peak of his addiction. Taylor could become a problem becouse of the same reason. Two guitar players with two big problems. Jagger could not evidently get rid of Keith so MT was expelled. No one would acknwoledge it as everyone could be get harmed. The "I leave" story is ilogical but harms no one. I know it i

ER? What is your source? Offering him Emotional Barbecue is like offering him fingerprint file... It is hard to believe such bad faith... We all know Bill's value lies in other fields which made stones sound unique...(and now is lost....)

QuoteGlammy All his cymbals do sound like shit in my opinion. He uses china cymbals as a crash, thin ride cymbals (which are usually used in jazz combos) while he plays rock, and now he doesn't even play a proper ride cymbal anymore but uses a crash cymbal for that matter. All these odd choices doesn't make him sound better. Watching him play makes me sick. He's stiff, there is no swing or groove

QuoteNICOS QuoteRocky Dijon I just watched the video and was waiting to hear the difference and then it hits you square between the eyes. Having seen dozens of versions of this song since STEEL WHEELS the immediate recognition is that Ronnie is free to bounce off Taylor in the lead up to the solo like I haven't seen or heard him do ever before. Largely Keith just keeps the riff going and Ronnie h

I do not remember which Marx (Karl, Groucho or Harpo) said (more or less) the following: if History repeats itself it does as farce.

Jagger is great lyricist. He knows it...but he also knows the type of music he has to elaborate. So irony and lack of pretentiouness is the basis of his lyrics. On the contrary there are a buch of overrated musicians who think of themselves as if they were the reincarnation of Shakespeare or John Keats and in the end they are pedantic and pretentious. It is only rocknroll....

QuotesanQ I really like Indian Girl. It sounds really good in headphones. I didn't when I first heard it though. Winning Ugly is one I don't think I will ever like. Indian girl I have disliked this songs for years...in fact I have hated it since the very first time. I nowadays find it listenable. I prefer it than hearing Miss You live anytime.

This thread shows how big cultural differences are among countries... In my country Spain we obviously have major political debates but it is not precisely usual to express publicly a feeling of happiness inspired by someone's death. I have read this kind of messages not only here but in "normal" papers or watched videos of people celebrating her death on the streets and football

AFEW years ago Mick Jagger asked Bill for access: "I've got the letter, it said 'I'm doing this book so of course I'll need access to your archives'. And I went 'Not a chance'. So he had to give the money back because he couldn't remember anything," says Bill with a giggle. "So he never wrote the book but he expected me to give him all the stuff and it wasn't on so I didn't do i

There is a group of Bill followers that makes some noise regarding the need of his comeback. Jagger surely is surprised and (a bit...) annoyed. For some of us Bill´s sound has been instrumental. Darryl may be light years from Bill from a technical point of view. But...Bill's sound is uncomparable, unrivalled. (for some fans ok..I concede).

Well...after all...at this stage...Keith may do whatever he wants. He just might be pleasing his wife's desire. He is likely thinking..."oh my God...I hate this but I love her...." or something like that.
