I got two $85 tickets for 5/18, but it took about 20 minutes for that option to show up, and then a few attempts with nothing available, Years ago I would have gone immediately for "Best Available" but I have no interest in paying $600+ for a ticket, and I figured if I'm settling for nosebleed seats anyway then I might as well get them for $85 instead of $175. I have no illusions tha

QuoteBluzDude Never been a real big fan of his music. I did see him live once in 1982 at the 1st US Festival and he did put on a good show. I was there too. I wasn't a big fan either, but he did play a generous set.

QuoteSend It To me Been searching for a '99 recording of this for ages and finally found it Would love to see this back in the set list - one of their best songs ever What do you think of this version? Thanks for posting this. I got to hear it at Anaheim '99. I was surprised and delighted when they played it.

Quote1cdog Love The WHO but Daltry's voice is shot. Musically Townsend can still play and sing, Zak Starky is great on drums and Pino is a more than capable bass player. I saw Roger Daltrey's Tommy and Who Classics tour a few months ago and he sounded better than he has in a long time. I think the surgery on his vocal cords really helped. He was very amiable and relaxed on stage, and at the

Quote24FPS Did anybody on this board actually see them on their truncated tour? I meant to catch them at the Wiltern in L.A. and didn't make it. I don't know if they'll ever go out again. Hope they filmed it. I saw one of the Wiltern shows. Tickets were expensive but I'm glad I went.

The Ticketbastard website kept rejecting my security check words and I finally just called them and tried it that way. All the "cheap" seats are gone, big surprise, but I can still get an orchestra pair for a mere $552. F*** that. Really sucks. Anyway, have a good time! Same thing happened to me with

Quotedrbryant I managed to make it there with a LOT luck and some frequent flier miles. I was in London for less than 24 hours; still remember those crazy lines to pick up tickets, the sushi place at the O2, seeing Kate Moss, threatening to kill a photographer who set up right in my line of sight . . . . . great night. I was there too. No luck in the lottery, but a lot of determination, plus m

I think the two greatest hits albums mentioned before are a good introduction, but Workingman's Dead and American Beauty are pretty accessible and I think they represent the band well. They also contain the only two songs that got much airplay before Touch of Grey: Casey Jones and Truckin', so you get two stand-alone albums that each have a greatest hit.

QuoteTitle5Take1 My favorite Dead song is side two (to use "vinyl language" ) of TERRAPIN STATION. It's actually a combination of songs melded together, and it's beautiful and it's the equivalent of what A DAY IN THE LIFE is to the Beatles. I'm amazed it's not a better known "piece" considering the fame of the band itself. I'm actually not a huge Dead fan, don't like Bob Wier'
