QuoteRocky Dijon We all have strong opinions about the band, their work, and their solo work and outside projects, but seriously, Brue think about what you wrote to ProudMary. No matter how much you disagree with her opinions of Keith, would you want someone talking to your mom or sister or wife/girlfriend or daughter like that? In real life, most guys would either deck the jerk who acted

Quoteproudmary QuoteGreen Lady I disagree with proudmary about many things, but nobody deserves your last two posts, Brue. I'm sure the lady has too much class to respond, so I'll say on her behalf that I have never reported a post and never will but I'm sorely tempted... Thank you for your sympathy,Green Lady, but I never pay attention to his posts, a man is sick I ain't the one calling peo

QuoteTitle5Take1 Blanket statements about creativity are reckless. Senescence affects different people differntly. Dostoevsky's greatest novel was his last. That's a novel. We're talking about music.

QuoteSend It To me QuoteBrue What's finite is the artist's creative period. After they reach a certain age, it's virtually gone. Human beings have a relatively short period of musical inspiration, it seems. Mathematicians and composers both seem to peak in their late 20's. There are exceptions, however. Paul Simon was in his late 40's when he produced Graceland and Rhythm of the Saints, alt

Quotesuperrevvy thanks to "sweet charmed life" on rocksoff (same as our SCL?) for the text of steve cropper's statement. steve was right there. heartbreaking. "Today I lost my best friend, the World has lost the best guy and bass player to ever live. Duck Dunn died in his sleep Sunday morning May 13 in Tokyo Japan after finishing 2 shows at the Blue Note Night Club."

Quotevermontoffender I don't know anyone who thinks Arcade Fire is trendy or lacking in soul. It's OK if you're ignorant concerning popular, current, bands, but it's best to not try and seem like an authority on them in that case. Seriously, Arcade Fire....trendy and soul free? That's an incredibly misinformed statement. Whatever happened to the record companies telling you who the good band

It's ironic how people end up dying after getting one last experience, like Yauch of the Beastie Boys - he died right after they got elected to the hall of fame. Frid worked on the movie and finished it, and he died. It's almost like they're at peace, and they just give up. It's nice they lived to see these things.

Quotezumabitch Only pretty good? The best bass player in pop/rock history, notwithstanding his apparently disconcerting technique? His lines are short and tight, and yet melodic and well articulated. His playing never bores me, while I can´t say the same for most of the bands I hear on the radio: frequently the bass is inconsistent, a sort of undistinguished “bottom” sound.. The score of th

He already played with them for like three days anyway, right? Could have been a whole week for all we know. It was three days. No more, no less. So he's back in the band?

Talked to this guy recently about some old concerts he had seen in the '60's, and he said he saw the Stones in '65 in Baltimore on Nov. 13 at the Civic Center (14,000) and he said that everybody in the band looked like they were wacked out or stoned or something except Brian. Said the the only one who was playing well was him. FYI. The Jones legend continues.... He also claimed that the fem
