Quotedph The speed on the watchit torrent exactly matches the speed of the official Japanese DVD, including the 3 bonus tracks. Is it wrong? I agree with you Dave as I was about to bring this up as well. It is possible that they didn't tune to their regular tuning of 4/40 or the key of E for this show which is why all the video footage from Granada is possibly correct and not altered and it ju

It is with great sadness that I pass this onto everyone on my favorite web site of the passing of Jonathan Frid, the 60's star of the daytime show "Dark Shadows", who played the 200 year old vampire Barnabas Collins. In just three weeks time his character will be resurrected on the big screen by Johnny Depp in the new Dark Shadows movie in which Jonathan does play a cameo role. I will

I love Johnny. The first time that I ever heard Jumpin' Jack Flash was when he played it on Don Kirshner's rock concert in 1973. He is the one who turned me on to the Stones and I have been an avid fan of Johnny and the Stones ever since.

In my opinion Ya ya's set the standard of all live albums and I don't think even the Stones can surpass it. I think that it could matched but not surpassed. Just listen to the sound that Keith has on his ampeg amplifier thoughout the '69 tour, its so intense. Keith's sound on JJF nad SFM is like a sonic boom hitting you right in the face and going straight through to your spine. Over dubbs an

QuoteMTWEMISSYOU Okay I just heard the samples and to my ears this is completely different from any Brussels show or any other broadcast '73 show that I have and I them all. I am hearing different guitar passages that I have never heard before. With the exception of maybe Brown Sugar and Midnight Rambler this sounds like a new release that was never broadcast before. It could be that this show

QuoteHis Majesty QuoteMTWEMISSYOU Very well put and I totally agree. It is a fact that all modern music comes from the same place..the blues. It's not a fact because it isn't true. Okay its my opinion and alot of other peoples. If you watch the Cream farewell at Royal Albert Hall, Jack Bruce expressed the same opinion and I agree with that. I do not consider rap and hip-hop to be music at

Quotepinkfloydthebarber well hey, it goes round and round, right? there's always been 'theft' of ideas, long as music has been around. sure Zep pilfered old blues riffs and licks and entire songs, even, but they certainly played them with distinction. not giving proper credit was the mistake. they should have acknowledged the artists they were cutting into. but let's not make out that they couldn

Then there's Love in Vain on GYYYO. It is credited to Jagger/Richard even though it's a Robert Johnson song. On Let it Bleed it is credited to Woody Payne.

Okay then "Stop breaking down' may be the only song that the Stones may of been a bit dishonest about. Then theres the erroneous credit given to Jagger/Richard/Taylor on the back cover of Metemorphosis for "I don't know why" although the label on the record had it right as a Stevie Wonder song. I'm sure thats just trivial as the Stones had very little to do with the release of Mete

Its funny how they would credit some artists but not alot of others. Case in point is 'When the levee breaks", "Traveling riverside blues" and "Were gonna groove" along with the two Willie Dixon songs from the first album. They also did "Gallows pole" which was credited to Page & Plant but was originally recorded by Leadbelly way back when under the title

I've had it awhile. Maybe someone here knows the source of this but its great to hear The Johnny Winter song in all its glory instead of the mutilated sb only one! Hi Scottkeef, Everyone talks abou

Wow cool being as I like Dandelion alot more than Shes a rainbow. I am glad to think that those clips are from Dandelion so maybe some day it will get out. I know that Dandelion syncs up perfect over the Lets Spend the night together promo of the Stones in the studio. I always thougt that Shes a rainbow was filmed as a promo.

Okay I have read about this and I have seen clips on the "Let it Bleed" documentary that is available on DVD, but I have never seen it complete. Obviously this is a rare video but I was wondering if anyone has seen it or owns it? If so what is on the video other than Mick and Marianne in the garden? Are all the Stones seen in the video and are there any studio clips? I would LOVE to see

And let's not forget the fantastic solos by Mick when he toured with Alvin Lee in '81. How many guitarists can stand next to Alvin ? Not many. Much respect to Mick from Alvin and Alvin from Mick and you can feel it in the songs they play.

What about "Fly Tomorrow" off of Blues from Laural Canyon. I always thought that was one of Mick's best solos."Mr. Censor Man' and "Parchman Farm" with Mayall are exceptional because of Taylor's solos, check them out. The live version of "Started walking" is a must for any fan. Also my favorite Stones solo has to be "Traveling Man".(Because I love boot

This is my favorite blues song the Stones ever recorded. Played alot in the style of "Down in the Bottom", Brian 's slide guitar is so beautifully played. It's to bad we dont have more recordings of Brian playing alot more songs like this with his Elmore James influenced style. I honestly believe that if Brian would of lived this style of blues is exactly what he would of done. So with

Just as soon as Depp finishes his childhood fantasy of playing Barnabas Collins in the new Dark Shadows movie that goes into production this month sometime. This has been in the works for about 4 years so therefore due to his busy schedule I wouldn't count on Keith's documentary coming out any time soon. Can't wait to see how this pans out and I am hoping that we get "unseen" footage.

Not only is Johnny Winter my favorite guitarist of all time but he is the one that first opened my ears to the Stones. It was his apperance on Don Kirshner in 1973 that had me humming JJ Flash all the next day. A friend had told me what I was humming so at 11 years old I rode my bike to K Mart and bought my first Stones album- Get yer ya yas out- and my life has never been the same. I met John

This was my favorite song off of my first boot back in 1978 mainly because it wasn't included on Ya Yas. I totally love the mood and the different tempo from the original that they played on the early part of the '69 tour. I wish they wouldn't of dropped it. I was also dissapointed in the medley with Under my thumb because it lacked that melodic mood that the Oakland shows had. It also seems so

Excellent show! Wish the complete show would surface someday. This is my all time favorite show. 2 Taylor solos in JJ Flash and the Midnight Rambler improvision is a real treat for all of us Taylor fans. This makes me appreciate my original vinyl TMOQ record that much more. Thanks for sharing this gem.

"The guitars were more up front and the seperation was the best I have ever heard." I want to add to this without causing speculation on what I believe I heard, because I am a hard-core 1969 fanatic and I am saying this to be true to what I believe I heard that day, but I heard guitar passages that I never heard before on certain songs on any other version of the film that I had seen

I am talking about a totally different sounding mix on all or most of the musical numbers. It was VERY evident as I remember. It was exactly as I explained it, a totally different mix. The guitars were more up front and the seperation was the best I have ever heard. It was so long ago and I had only seen it screened that one time on cable which is what prompted me to ask my fellow Stones collecto

I can recall that back in '82 or '83 watching Gimmie Shelter on either Showtime or HBO ( don't remember which premium cable station) that my friend and I were absolutely blown away watching it because it had a different soundtrack mix to the one that we saw many times before at all the midnight movie showings that we had been to. It may of even been a different version, but I can tell you it soun
