Quotepaulywaul Question: regarding all this bizarre inflammatory rhetoric he's coming out with these days .... does the United States actually take him seriously, or just dismiss him as the raving nutcase that he genuinely appears to be ? The latter. Very tiresome.

I'm surprised by this Grace Slick pile-on. Her comments regarding "aging rock stars" are far from obnoxious. In fact, I have read several comments by Mick Jagger in various publications from the sixties in which he states that he cannot imagine singing rock & roll after he reaches 30 years of age. A lot of other musicians from that time (i.e., the sixties) shared that same feelin

All I have heard of Otis is his performance at Monterey Pop. He really lit up the crowd with that performance, though. Definitely gave me a greater appreciation for Otis & his music. Another one for the list of those artists who died WAY too young.

Quoteozziestone Ever wondered about that donkey (or mule) on the cover of Ya Ya's? Me neither really but I am reading David Dalton's (very good) bio of Dylan at the mo and was mildly intrigued when he pointed out the connection between the album cover and Dylan's "Visions of Johanna" in particular the line from the song "jewels and binoculars hang from the head of a mule". So

Very sad news indeed. Any additional information on this? I didn't believe he was that old. I have gone to the CMR website too many times to be easily counted. The reviews have been extremely helpful in my decisions as to whether to purchase a new RS release, especially releases from the 1969 American Tour (the 3CD Broadway, one of the Altamont releases that came with a DVD, and a third

I don't know how many copies of the John Mayall Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton LP I have worn out over the years. Cream was excellent as well. After that, my interest in Clapton began to wane. I only know that one Blind Faith song and the one Derek & the Dominos song that are played over & over on my local classic rock radio station. The Slowhand LP is the only one of his solo

While I am lucky enough to own a copy of Exile, I feel for the fans who were not lucky enough to order a copy back in the early 2000s and who now cannot afford one of the few copies that occasionally pop up in a secondary market. Genesis/Tarle should give serious consideration to releasing a paperback copy of Exile, just such as Ethan Russell did with his book Let It Bleed. The orignal copi

After several years of having Number 177, I still look through it on a regular basis. Regarding the missing print, I found an eBay seller who sold me a color copy of a Tarle photo which I have added to the book. I have also put in other photos & items, such as a press photo from Mick & Bianca's wedding and newspaper clippings on the Stones' 1971 exile in France. While the price was a

Quotestrettonbull Oh well I suppose I should be flattered, but it's a bit naughty really. "Naughty" is the nice way of putting it. I'm sorry someone else is trying to profit from your hard work, especially as you have generously made your recording (and accompanying artwork!) available for free. But it is also a bit flattering. Good job!
