I don´t know how to place a video here, but of course you know (and love) the official live video from 1978. During Ronnie´s solo, around 3.05, Keith starts to play a short, repeated riff. This is one of the coolest things, he has ever done live on stage. Simple, but 100 % effective!! Priest

Quotelatebloomer QuoteRockman ....most IORR posters are well over 29 ..... I thought you were 29 too when I first looked at the title thread, but I wasn't going to say it...great story Virgin Priest, thanks for sharing. No, I´m 49 - but I look like 29... ;-) Thanx to all of you! Priest

QuoteStonesTod QuoteVirgin Priest Mick will NEVER allow a new album with old, but just average songs! that's worse than releasing a new album with new, but well-below average songs? Did Mick ever do that? ;-) Priest

Maybe they have ENOUGH material, but what about the quality? WAY and WOAF are true classics. Without songs of that caliber a release of old material wouldn´t make sense. Mick will NEVER allow a new album with old, but just average songs! Priest

Because the whole song is INTENSE. The lyrics, the melody line, the guitar playing, the arrangement, everything is intense, right in your face. I think, the somg writing and the recording was a real FLOW. Priest

QuoteNasty Habits This has turned in to the best post ever! Maybe the theme of the next tour should be based around the 1792 era, that would just be amazing! just imagine some of their stage outfits. This tour will be the final highlight for Chuck! Disguised as The Pathfinder "Natty Bumppo" he can play his saloon piano as loud as possible! ;-) Priest

Quote24FPS I think I could handle it now. I realize that they're never going to vary the setlist much and that I've heard the warhorses more than enough times. They won't dig deep into their past, so, what's the point? I have finally gotten to to where I don't want to hear Sympathy For The Devil live again. But even if they didn't play it, they wouldn't put in something interesting like Moonlight

One of the most fascinating gigs ever. Now we know them for 50 years, but this is the baby-version of our band: they are popular for maybe 18 months. And the “baby-version“ is capable to pull off a show like this!! They don´t know anything about their future... In 1964 there are no monster hit singles (Satisfaction, GOOMC etc) drug busts “Big Four“ Altamont Ope

The Stones wearing theirs suits on stage... what a lovely idea... For I Wanna Be Your Man they could welcome two special guests: Paul and Ringo (wearing suits!). Ringo could do the lead vokal, sharing the mic with Mick. Paul could handle the bass and do the call/response backing vokal. Man, that would be the final symbiosis of The Fab Two and the Stones. On Dec. 1st, Cologne, Paul wor

I think it´s almost impossible to rate these new songs without the context of an album. G&D and OMS are no Mid-60s-Monster-Singles and they are not part of a song sequence on a regular CD. In fact, to my ears they come out of nowhere. I bet, OMS would have done fine as an album closer – better than It Must Be Hell. Priest

Since 2007 I read most of those “Can Keith still do it?“-threads. I read them almost every day, every week, every month.... all over the years. It took me dozens of hours to read all those threads. And it took dozens of hours for our IORR-friends to write them all. How many hours did it take to read them for all of us? Hundreds? Thousands? This morning I saw the short snippet from the

Came home from work, made a routine check on iorr – and I couldn´t believe my eyes. Still can´t. The last HURRAY of the Geatest Band On Earth is named “Grrr“. A bad joke? Saw them 6 times since 1990 and in the end I was tired on their safety-first autopilot on stage. So I didn´t go to see them in Cologne 2006. Now I wish them back on autopilot – one last time!! June 20th, 1995, Cologne, Mungersdorfer Stadion: The lights went down; Charlie started drumming... From the right side Mick J. entered the stage, dancing and prancing. Right from that moment, 70.000 people were connected in a giant electric field. When he reached his mike and bowed down, the crowd went nuts. "I'm gonna tell you how it's gonna be You're gonna give your love to me

Right now, I´m listening to the extended version of SHE WAS HOT (6´50). It´s a marvellous piece of music, a fantastic combination of Stones magic and 80s style. But what about the origin of that long version. I don´t know anything. Is it played by the Stones themselves, live in studio? Or is it a "remix", done by Mick, any producer or studio engineer? Thanks! Pries

To me, this video this promo is one of the key moments in the band´s history. I like it much better than the coloured promo with make up. Maybe the music is pre-recorded, but I bet, it was recorded live in studio. Leaving behind their image as blues purists wannabe pop stars Beatles rivals psychedelic musicians they make their very first appearance as a true ROCK BAND !! Including

IMAGINATION is one of the highlights in the band´s history. The studio version is raw, soulful and mesmerizing. And I love EVERY live version from 1978/79 and 1981/82. Back then, the whole band could create a natural GROOVE! Priest
