Pauly, I misread the subject as "mood lighting" and thought you were getting into interior design!

Save your wallet, Simon. Most are bootlegs and I managed to run down a whole load a while back for free. Check out Dimeadozen, etc., and various blogs. There's some great stuff with (mostly) good sound quality.

Glad you enjoyed it Simon. Been going to see Emmylou for many years and she is always...well..perfect! Have only seen Rodney on solo gigs. Tried to get tickets for this tour, but all the stalls tickets for Glasgow were gone in jig time. A bit odd,as it's been heavily advertised since. If you're looking for Emmylou material, there's a lot of live stuff with The Hot Band from the seventies k

That's brilliant! The Feelgoods were never huge in the USA. I do hope somebody gets the word to Wilko.

Quotekharrison Ditch the "guest" on Wild Horses and add Taylor, Rambler of course, and then bring him out for the encores.... I agree. It's a Stones gig and the guests last night are not my cup of tea. Personally I would prefer more Taylor and no other guests (OK, keep the choir idea).

I got front stalls, row D, in the middle for Glasgow via the usual ticket site for the hall, rather than AEG. Worked for me. Happy man now!

Been trying to get Glasgow tickets on the pre-sale, but no good seats available. Most are about seven rows back in the front circle. Not REALLY bad, but not what I'm looking for. Got one chance of seats near the front, but, again, right at the end of the row, so I passed on it.

I am very surprised that this thread has not been closed. Anyone who lived in the UK through Thatcherism - particularly if you lived in the north of the country - will find it difficult to have anything but very strong political views which are, as such, inappropriate to this site. Personally, I detested the woman for the way she devastated our industries, communities and, ultimately our econo

Another great show. Thanks for sharing. I know it's been said before on this board, but the Stones could really do with taking a leaf out of Mr Hunter's book. Great shows, wonderful simpatico musicians, great songwriting (still), wonderful albums and affordable tickets. Glad you had as good a time as I did!

How sad. Wilko did say he wouldn't do any shows unless he was feeling fit. He cancelled Canvey Island on the last tour as well, I think. He wouldn't want to miss these gigs. Pointless speculating if he'll reschedule. It's still to sink in fully about Wilko, particularly after his recent energetic performances.

QuoteSimonN Hi Iain, Great write-up! That does sound like a class venue- pleased to hear that Ian and his band delivered the goods yet again. Like there was any doubt, hah-hah! I love the residential aspect of this, where you retire to the bar afterwards to drink and reminisce, instead of having to leg-it for a train or bus or whatever. Civilised, y'know? Here's hoping for a full Rant ba

QuoteChris Fountain Nice selist!! Great evening for ya - But- Why no "Allthe Way From memphis" or "Golden Age of R&R?" Doesn't take away from a great night -but i was thinking that would staple or included. It was just Ian with a guitarist and double bass player. No drummer, etc., so these numbers really wouldn't have worked as they really do need a full band to ca

I was going to tag this on to Simon's thread, but I was so knocked out by the venue (as well as Ian and the band) that I started this thread. Backstage at The Green is set within a fairly large hotel, but once inside, it's perfectly self-contained with its own bar, toilets, etc. The walls are covered with memorabilia with enough Stones stuff to keep the interest up. The hall itself has a nomin

QuoteSimonN Hi Iain, You know that you're nailed-on to have a great show: it sometimes amazes me that artists like IH still get a kick out of getting up there, even after a ton of gigs but he still manages to keep it fresh for himself (and us too) somehow. On a side note, I get a kick out of reading about other IORRians concert going history (see Midnight Toker's tale above...btw, any photo

Thanks for this, Simon. Great shots - different camera? Glad it was such a good gig. Looking forward to seeing him in Kinross on Saturday - venue seats about 130 and we're booked in for an overnight, so we'll be able to enjoy a small refreshment or two. Ian is always a class act. First saw him in 75 with Mick Ronson, but the gig I saw in Glasgow a few months back was every bit as good in
