Here's hoping Blondie Chaplin is working on another solo album while not with the Stones anymore. "Between Us" from 2007 has been very enjoyable, and I have yet to hear the unreleased "Fragile Thread" from 2000. Are there any news on further solo work from Blondie?

I agree that "My True Story" is a very nice little record. The positive surprise about the studio band is the guitar playing of Greg Leisz who is mostly known as a pedal steel player.

Glad to see Ronnie doing well and enjoying being sober. Here's hoping for more great guitar parts such as "Don't Stop", "Let Me Down Slow", "Blinded By Rainbows" and maybe even another classic song such as "Black Limousine". I've loved "Lucky Man" and "Catch You" the most from his recent solo album. Thank you for the music.

Let me reply with a quote: "Luck is expensive and freedom comes cheap / When love's on the menu, I don't drink so deep / Well I was just out there to have me some fun / But it's easier said than done".

Usually, when some new music comes out by a favourite band on whose forum I'm registered, I use the time to immerse myself in the new music instead of posting on the web. I guess others do it similarly. Maybe the users you are missing have recordings of the recent shows they are listening to now? No offense intended, but I have always been under the impression Superrevvy was mostly a viral mar

QuoteOneHit Give Ronnie a lead vocal on the next album! I agree he should sing one! He is underutilized indeed. But it should be added that "Black Limousine" is one of the Stones' best songs of all time. The 95 version rules.

Yes, they did get their reunion right, apart from splitting up again after that. David Marks is indeed a very dynamic lead guitarist. Feel free to listen to his surf guitar playing on the song "Hotter" from Brian Wilson's aborted "Sweet Insanity" solo album. I'm sure it's on youtube somewhere.

The current era Rolling Stones don't play near enough songs from their post-reunification period (1989 until today) in their concerts. That's why fans who got to know them during this era, like me, feel kind of left out. I don't like it that they don't see themselves as a current band anymore but more as catalogue artists. They could write and record good new songs year in year out but instead

He reportedly does not want to play new songs because the fans didn't like them. Maybe they just played the wrong songs from their recent albums. Great stuff like "Driving Too Fast", "Under the Radar", "Too Tight", "Jump On Top Of Me" was never even attempted live whilst "You Got Me Rocking Now" and that awful radio song "Streets Of Love"

Finally, Rod Stewart has recorded something worth listening to again. The production values are a little questionable, though, especially when it comes to the low frequencies. The bass is just a blur. And the horn section sounds like it was flown in by a keyboarder despite obviously real horns and not those crappy 80s keyboard horns. But I guess that's what the 96-tape machine implementation o

If you want good music in a sexy video, that's pretty hard to find these days. "Stripper" by Soho Dolls would be such an example. But if you don't care about turning off bad music and just watch the video, there are basically no limits anymore these days: That Eric Prydz video is proof enough that porn has got an obvious influence on the visuals of current era music videos. Quoteowlbynite This could be the last time...and we can't even count on that, life is too uncertain. "The Last Time" surely would be a fitting closing song for those upcoming shows, with the encores coming after that. But apart from that, I'd very much welcome a new album!

I understand with not having played all that many songs from the 3 albums the Rolling Stones have released in the last 20 years, there is no need to write and record new songs with the intention of performing them live because the band has got such a huge backlog of songs they haven't played. But then, there are also those fans like me who dig their new songs but don't go to the concerts becau

Well, apparently, Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings are also on the bill of the festival, so who knows, maybe good ol' Bill joins in with the Stones for a few songs? Given Nile Rodgers' involvement with "She's the Boss", he might or might not be invited - if they invite anybody at all. The work Nile did with the Vaughan Brothers and Jimmie Vaughan is quite enjoyable. However, I don't like

Around the time Chuck Leavell joined the Rolling Stones organisation, his playing also featured on these notable albums: The Fabulous Thunderbirds - Hot Number (1987) Dion - Yo Frankie (1989) Dave Edmunds - Closer To the Flame (1989) Listening to Chuck's big moments on these albums makes me get the feeling that the Rolling Stones never really let Chuck off of the leash to run wild over th

Even though I'm decidedly a fan of the Stones' post-reunification material, I have decided not to buy GRRR. It wasn't even tempting in the slightest because it was so clearly not aimed at me as its target audience. And I'm not a guy who would buy mp3s because of the compression so I missed out on the two new tracks so far. Had they released an album's worth of songs (or maybe even just 4 of t

QuoteThe Wick It's a little pathetic how personally everyone attacks this guy. It's as if they are taking out their frustrations in their own lives or their overwhelming desire to be in the Stones on him. I understand if people don't like his playing or style, but this is a little lame. I agree.

The perfect ending: They just peter out, making new album after new album, touring sometimes, and continue with that even if one of the 4 is not around anymore, so people on the boards can keep the buzz going, discussing things like which is the last "real" Rolling Stones album. It seems they are having none of that, though, because how can you go out with a bang that's bigger tha

I wouldn't miss another worldwide stadium tour if they decided against that. I wouldn't miss arena shows if they decided to just play 5 song sets of their Greatest Hits at corporate parties for the suits. But I would miss it if they decided against recording a new album of new material.

Darryl probably is not a member for the same reason Stu was not. It would be interesting, though, if Darryl had more creative input in new songs next time around they record new material. I'm pretty sure he's got some talents which are underused in the Stones context. But so does Ronnie. And now that he's clean, his creative input should be included more in new material, even more so than D
