Anyone who watched "Still Bill" knows that Bill Withers is currently enjoying retirement and anyone who was in the studio with him recently should have felt honored to have him there because of it!

It's a funny idea to get everyone to post those pics but isn't there something twisted about their children posting pictures of them reading the book--a book that obviously goes into great detail about their parent's marriage ending? I'm surprised to see Ronnie "support" the book when it doesn't really put him in great light. Very odd, if you ask me.

QuoteBlackHat Wasn't there some talk of their late 2011/early 2012 jam being included? No, not really. While Morgan, the director, raved that the rehearsal/jam was the best thing he'd ever seen...it was made clear by Mick that they didn't want it used because they felt it didn't show the band in the best light. Morgan may have thought it was great but Mick may have found it unsuitable.

Just saw him a couple weeks ago. He can still lay down some great licks...his fingers seem to be holding up pretty well for being in his mid 80s! He still does a bit more chatting throughout the show that I'd prefer (sorta kills the momentum) but it didn't take away from seeing the legend.

QuoteVT22 QuoteMathijs But how can you play the second A chord with hammer-on without a capo? Mathijs Quite simple as I stated in my post: by playing it as a bar-chord. It is a fingering type commonly used by classical guitarists, but a bit more unusual to execute for the average rock guitarist. Not impossible though. Umm..that that little move during that A chord is really a pull off no

Quote71Tele I play it without a capo now. I like to have that lower "E" available when I want to change things up, and I like playing the blues licks on the regular "B" position instead of the open "E" position (as capo'd on the 7th fret). I see your point but the main objective of the song really is the rhythm playing not so much any lead licks. the capo may be a

QuoteFather Ted On Ladies & Gents, Keith seems to have his capo on the 4th or 5th fret for MR. The player in Howled's video is just making it harder to play by barring instead of capo'ing. just not possible. Keith will not randomly change position the capo like that. you are conveniently forgetting that by moving the capo you are changing the key of the song. by bring it down to the fifth

I'm not sure there was ever a performance of Midnight Rambler where he did not use a capo. he even used one in Hyde Park in 1969. I don't see any other way to play the song without a capo. you mentioned the advantages for having a capo but really the dvantages are crucial to the riff and the entire song. the pull off that happens in the A ( played as a D with the capo on 7) would be a complete pa

Keith wasn't the author of the book so he definitely would not have been promoting the book by doing any sort of book signing or anything. Especially since I doubt there was anything officially arranged for Keith to sign these books (contest or any other signing) since he has no real association with the creation of the book. With that said, it seems as though the fan who originally owned the

Quote48yearsaRSfan So to recap: 1. no photo evidence of the "5 Keith signature templates" used in the autopen claims. Would love to see them if they are available. 2. No written expert opinion including credentials of the expert concluding this was a mass fraud/hoax with 5 autopen templates or so used. 1. A little elbow grease would have gotten you the evidence you were looking fo

Quote48yearsaRSfan 1. It is mentioned in the thread that there are 4 or 5 signature types used in the KR book signing? Where are we getting this specific fact from; publisher, KR's Agent? These are pretty specific facts suggested. No official word from the publisher or Keith's manager, Jane Rose. No one has yet officially responded to this issue. Once it was made clear that most of the bo

Quotebuttons67 where will coldplay be after 50 years together. I dunno....maybe disbanded...but maybe still together?? If there is an audience out there for them (and I dont' see why there wouldn't be) why wouldn't they be around 50 years from now? Did everyone seriously believe that in 1981, the Stones would truck on for 33 more years?? Coldplay has a healthy fanbase and there is no r

They sure did look great. It was one of the shows I was looking forward to getting. I did a quick search online and this particular recording from this guy still hasn't surfaced anywhere. I'm guessing he wasn't able to get it out to anyone who ordered it from him. Huge bummer...

A guy (NYC Bitch Committee) on YouTube was offering for sale his recording of the first Newark show...completely shot off the video screen and was a beautifully captured recording...almost resembling a true proshot show. Did this recording ever get circulated? The guy who was selling it dropped off the face of the earth...I never received my copy..but I'm hoping someone else did?

The St. Louis '97 show was perfection. The last time Mick was a true bad ass. He just looked and acted dangerous like a dirty old man. Keith was in top form. His last true hurrah.

Yeah I care....but Mick doesn't! Mick switches around lyrics all the time. Laziness mostly. He does it a lot on "Shattered" too. I'm sure he doesn't even know how many times the lyric was said in the original studio version when he's up on stage. Who knows if the teleprompter says the correct lyrics but it seems Mick doesn't care that much. It is, after all, a small detail.

Quotecorriecas yeah===and so???? will the Stones join him?? why is this important ? jeroen WTF? The thread is clearly marked as OT...not-related to the Stones. Why thread crap when it's obviously of no interest to you? If you don't care...don't post. Prince is a huge name and him playing Montreux is worth mentioning for any Prince fans on the board.

Aside from a couple songs randomly turning up on my iPod shuffle in the car---I don't really put them on purposely everyday. But after a few weeks/months of no Stones, I'll put them on to cleanse the palate...like a system reboot. It always works.
