Don't worry Tony, there is some truth in your view here. Dave delivered some balls into that song. Which it needed. The band has got away with to many "impotent" versions of songs like this earlier. You can say that Grohl injected some viagra or ass bum coke to the song...

Just peerfect! Dave gave the song the energy boost it needed. It inspired Mick, Ron and even Charlie! In many ways I think Keith has been an energy thief for The Stones for quite a while now. He doesn't have the drive he used to have and drags the band down. Bitch and Shattered are excellent song selections but they need that kind of energy boost that Dave gave them. Gold to Sweden. 5-1 against Switzerland. All kudos to the Swiss though who made one hell of a tournament. In fact their best since 1935! The Sedin brothers made all the difference for Tre Kronor (Team Sweden). Without them we were quite a mediocre team. Sweden's ninth gold medal since 1920. USA took the bronze. Finland fourth.

I think SG (and SG bonus) is well appreciated because it was the last really good effort from the band (TY was in many ways 70s surplus). It still has some freshness about it. At least if we speak in Rolling Stones terms. Personally I think that the band should play more songs from SG and even SG plus! Those songs aren't overutilized in the same way as their late 60s and early 70s material.

I agree, Thrylan. Get Off Of My Cloud is not a strong opener. Probably the weakest opener since Not Fade Away (94/95). Personally I would go for an upbeat 70s song like Shattered or Bitch. They would do the same trick as Start Me Up did. And they are not warhorses...
