Hope Bob's all right. I always enjoy Grateful Dead bootlegs. Fantastic band. Fantastic live performances. Always rated them better than e.g. Zeppelin who I've always thought were overrated and boring.

I have their latest album Rapture of the Deep on vinyl and it sounds good. Don Airey has filled Lord's boots well. Steve Morse is technically better guitarist but Blackmore has that Purple feeling on his fingertips. But all in all, Morse is fine replacement.

Quotehowled The JJF riff might have come from Wyman jamming on the piano but Wyman didn't put the JJF song together, that was Mick and Keith. IMO without Bill's jamming Stones possibly wouldn't have recorded JJF so the true credit should've been Jagger/Richard/Wyman. Bill was the driving force this time and Mick and Keith took the idea forward. And if it's only about putting a song together th

Who wants to listen to Beethoven's music? He hasn't put out anything in centuries. Like DandelionPowderman puts it: good music never dies.

I vote for Sticky Fingers. But Bleed would've been better if songs "I Don't Know Why" and "I'm Going Down" had been on the album.

My favourite is "The Doors Are Open". Fantastic documentary with brilliant versions of the songs. I first saw this in 1983 and thought it was awesome.

QuoteRoll73 Thought it was a bit dodgy of the journo to (sort of) implicate Bill in the whole Saville/ child abuse business. Then again I guess he got up to some questionable activities. But if every rock star was investigated in that context there'd probably need to be a new (extra large) prison built to house all of them! I did chuckle at the article one of the people who commented on the pi

It should've been a 10 song album like in the good ol' days. Like many nowadays albums that are released in a CD makes the same mistake: fill the whole 80 minutes. Of course, there's gonna be lots of fillers instead of gems.

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteHis Majesty QuoteDandelionPowderman He didn't participate in the recording session. He wrote one of the riffs in the song, hence the credit, of course. Writing a riff earns you a writing credit? The credit probably has nothing to do with his contribution, but totally to do with their business agreement. Sometimes it does, yeah. No doubt about that. Had Ronni

Thanks, Barnestormer. After a quick glimpse I noticed in page 23 that Mick and Keith aren't mingling at the backstage in Finland nevertheless the text says so. I think that's the lift of Hotel Kalastajatorppa in Helsinki where they stayed during their visit. At least I remember so. What do you think?

QuoteThe Sicilian He married the honey, she married the money. I guess you can call it a mutual arrangement. You got it right. After seeing those pics you just can't say there's passion between those two. Hopefully I'm wrong but there are too many young boys and girls that just wants to marry money. Young woman and an old guy like Ronnie? It must be love like Madness sings. It's also funny

Well, I think there are more obvious rip-off's. Eventually you can't write a song that doesn't resemble a single song on earth.
