Quotedcba QuoteMathijs What a bloody mess...nobody remembers the song, then you bring out Taylor so Wood can do the slide solo, and Taylor's solo is pointless.... Sorry, but I think its all happening 15 years too late.... Mathijs I had that feeling... about CYHMK : messy and pointless. But hey this is a premiere so we have to give the lads another chance (Saturday night?) Maybe messy, but

QuoteMidnight Toker It is mutual. They saved each other. It is a beautiful thing to see MT playing with them again. Long over due. Yes, exactly. It doesn't matter if they never play another note together, what happened happened, and nobody can take it away from us. To see Mick Jagger and Keith Richards exchange those smiles that said "can you believe this?" was worth all the years of

QuoteMathijs I guess I am the only one whom thinks this was just one big dissapointment...I find it unbelievable that after 40 years Taylor gets the chance of his lifetime to appear again with the Stones, get acknowledged and get his credit, and what happens? He starts the solo clearly not knowing what to play. He hasn't listened to the record in 40 years. So, after a few bars he goes into this l

QuoteDoomandGloom QuoteJumpinJeppeFlash It's good but i still think MT is oversoloing here. It doesn't really sound as it did when they recorded it. Best version in my opinion is MSG 2003 or maybe SDF 2007 when Ronnie plays the solo. No way... The best part for me is the double stops before the opening signature lick.. Nobody would do that.. I can analyze each section the way I did when I was a

Quotealimente Quote71Tele The Vegas Era is over. We are now in the Three Weavers Era (courtesy of Thrylan). Well, not quite, Tele. We're not already there, but we're on a good way. At least it looks like it in the moment. But it remains to be seen if they will follow this route, if it really leads them to a new and once again unique incarnation of the band's sound. I agree with Doxa that ANY

Quoteuhbuhgullayew QuoteThrylan QuoteSilver Dagger Great stuff kleermaker. I've been playing the Sticky Fingers album a lot lately. It's probably Mick Taylor's finest album. Funny you would say that....I postulate you're not a Taylorite,ist,orian.....they all think GHS is the one, it seems, even though they are raving about Sway and CYHMK. I am a Richardite, and say SF. First Taylorites..

QuoteThrylan Right on. It would make for interesting possibilities, three weavers is kind of uncharted territory, but if Keith took a hard look in the mirror, and MT laid back; Ronnie is if nothing else, simpatico. It might be the way to a five year lease??? Maybe "Three Weavers"! Yikes! We have started an entire new chapter of Stones mythology. I hereby suggest that the Stones have t

Quoteemotionalbarbecue MT alone did not succeeded. The whole band in stage succeeded. This is not a MT issue in itself. This new stage belongs to the whole band and I hope Mick, Keith, Ron and Charlie let it flow and face the challange. The mere 50th anniversary celebration has scalated to a new and likely not forecasted dimension: the musical dimension. They surprinsingly have a lot of work

Quotebigmac7895 Hold on here... Taylor didn't play on IORR? I don't think Keith played all the electrics and acoustics. The 12 string of Ronnie's stayed for sure. I think Keith wiped nearly all the guitars on the demo and did overdubs. I don't think Taylor is on guitar on that track. Taylor also missed some early IORR sessions due to "personal" problems.
