Quotetriceratops QuoteRollin92 Wyman mentioned that there was loads of unreleased material around in an interview with BBC London Radio last month. In all fairness, the way Bill was talking about it he sounded quite keen to explore what was out there. More royalty checks for him which he wants and needs being that he left just before the Stones tours became super-lucrative making a peon like

Quoteheadly123 I can say I have seen them a few times and I am happy with that. This guy nailed it for everyone on this board who thinks they have been fleecing their fans for years. Can they get the money ? Yes probably. Should they do that to the people who supported them for 50 years ? Probably not. There comes a time when you should throw your fans a friggen bone man. This would have been the

Quote in the Press from Ron Wood: "We've already spent a million on rehearsing in Paris. And the stage is going to be another few million. And the lights. We feel no bad thing about ticket prices. We've got to make something" As I said, they don't give a s**t. I don't know which company is sponsoring the tour but I guess they would have covered the up-front costs, I can't see Jagg

Quotebv No offense, but the Stones never said they would save the planet or act like Mother Theresa. They simply play rock'n'roll for money. They have done so for more than 50 years. Over the years all the long time fans (like myself) have grown up and they might have family and grandchildren and wifes who wonder why they suddenly need money and travel and suddenly look into changing holiday plan

Another band celebrating 50 years in the business is Manfred Mann and I went to see the latest incarnation of the band, known as The Manfreds, a few days ago. The band features Paul Jones and several other original members. The show is based around their album The Five Faces of Manfred Mann and they played virtually every track from that album and a few hits, solo items too. The show was fabul

Quotepinkfloydthebarber 'Is there actually still a large magority of people that still listens to this band regularly? - well lets put it this way ..if you are NOT listening to the stones heyday period, say 68 -72/73, then you are NOT acquiring the essence of what DEFINES rock and roll as a musical genre. and therefore you cannot subjectively put that definition into proper context with musi

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteElmo Is "Undercover of the Night" the most unique, overlooked, underrated, EXCELLENTest song in the Stones Catalogue? No. I'm sorry you didn't understand that was a rhetorical question. You're answer is therefore not valid. What's rhetorical about it?

QuoteSonicDreamer There is no merit in glorifying anyone who kills human beings for a living, soldiers are merely legitimised murderers. QuoteGreen Lady You can't go back. But I'm glad I was there, to listen under the bedclothes on a newly-invented transistor radio to Not Fade Away on a dodgy signal from Radio Luxembourg, watch the black-and-white weekend start HERE with the Stones on Ready Steady Go, and make reel-to-reel tape "illegal downloads" with the microphone up against the TV or radio speaker. GravityBoy makes a valid point in that there are suddenly a lot of people coming forward with claims now that the 'c' word has been mentioned - compensation. These people would be well advised to think carefully before going down that road. No organisation, be it the BBC, Leeds Infirmary or whatever, is going to start writing cheques without a fight. Claims will have to go through a court of law

QuoteGreen Lady This reminds me of the recent MPs' expenses scandal in the UK - a culture where 'everybody does it' to some degree and nobody feels particularly guilty or ashamed, until there is a sea-change in attitudes and a media feeding frenzy - and then very few people are going to come out squeaky clean and smelling of roses. Most young men who were in the music business in the 60s and 7

QuoteHis Majesty QuoteElmo We shall probably never know unless someone turns up and swears that they saw him abusing one or more girls - and how likely is that? That's already happened. Someone has SWORN that they saw this, or just told a journo? There's a big difference and the perjury law might get in the way of some of these allegations

Quotevudicus QuoteGravityBoy I'd like to see proper evidence and due process. I'm funny like that. Claims potentially linked to large sums of money do that to me. That's the problem right there. It's all being done too late by the wrong people. In an ideal situation the alleged victims would have come forward to the Police whilst he was still alive. Agreed. It seems to me that some jo

Quote2000 LYFH Quotenoughties Hmm, I was so young at the time that things were really going on behind my back, so to speak. As has been clarified above, this album is in fact part of some larger scheme, the fatigue thing after the roaring 60s. I wonder if a 15 year old understood that this was reason for buying it at the time. If so, she would have to be a very mature young woman. Yeah, I can see
