David Bowie right now. I pretty much gave up 'round about Tin Machine and "Tonight." His last great album was "Scary Monsters." But "The Next Day" got me into more modern Bowie. Heathen and Reality are quite good too. Richard Thompson Dylan After that it's a Jazz world for me most recently. T@3

Set lists have gotten more adventurous over time. 81 the shows were constantly the same. Ditto '89 with a change or two. I'll bet nobody in '72 or '73 bitched about them playing the same songs night to night. T@3

QuoteJah Paul QuoteManuelStones Quoteits good to be anywhere Wow, Emotional Rescue!!! I really hope the Stones keep this in the setlist for the rest of the tour... such a great, great song! A really nice surprise indeed. That was awesome! Wish they'd try more "new" stuff - this shows they can pull it off. Granted that's a phone recording, but I think that's evidence for why nobody

What does he say about Charlie? I've always thought it was, "Charlie Watts isn't sold, maybe." My brother thinks it's "is a sort of maybe." T@3

QuoteRoss I thought the "Lenny Bruce" song was a bit daft when I first heard it, until I read a theory that Lenny Bruce was a metaphor for John Lennon (clued by the "I rode with him in a taxi once" line referring to the famous taxi scene in "Eat The Document" ). I am not sure if that is true, but I liked the song a lot better from that perspective. Of course no

QuoteRockman The original UK/German release carried 16 tracks where as the US release dropped Somethings Just Stick In Your Mind.. We're Wastin' Time ... which pulled it back to a 14 tracker ... Those two tunes were put on the CD release when they were re-issued, nice bonus.

Expecting Rain is phenomenal. The quality and organization of the boots on there (you have to log in) is the best I've ever seen. Became COMPLETELY addicted to the site and downloaded tons of amazing Boots -- both shows and outtakes several years ago. If you like Bob, this site is essential trolling. T@3

RT rocks! One of the best and sadly underrated guitarists. Saw him in the Georgia Theater, before it burned down about 15 years ago. Sadly he hasn't made it to my new home in Salt Lake City. T@3

As someone said earlier, you are in for an unbelievable journey. If you're like me, (a serial monogamist), one of the suggested starters will hook you, and you'll listen to nothing but Neil Young for the next three months. Neil has gone done so many paths; you'll be hooked by some (Harvest, Live Rust, Ragged Glory) and completely mystified or bored sh*tless by others (Re-Ac-tor, Are You Passi

I have to disagree with 24. I think Bridges is the by far the most interesting of the albums. While trying to be "current" they were still playing with styles and concentrating on songs more than just riffs. I'll take Bridges over ABB any day. T@3

The Rolling Stones, NOW! Precisely because the closest thing to a singe is Heart of Stone. To me it plays the most like an "album" than most of the early ones. T@3

Wow, can't understand other's love for 1234. I find it boring. Much like Main Offender from Keith's solo catalogue -- it just feels like a bunch of unfinished riffs with lazy, repeated lyrics -- the title track, Wind Howling Through. I give it another chance every few years, and it goes quietly back on the shelf. MUCH prefer IGMOATD, Gimme Some Neck, and Slide on This to 1234. T@3

GHS by miles. When I return to the Stones after a hiatus, that's almost always where I start. IORR just sounds muddy to me. I do like B+B though. Perfect sound. T@3

I had tickets to see the Kinks shortly after One More From the Road (82 maybe). The show got cancelled by a huge snow storm, and I couldn't go to the rescheduled date. That's probably my biggest regret is not ever seeing the Kinks. T@3

No, but when I was about 16, I had tix to see Yes on the 90125 tour. The morning of the show my parents told me I couldn't go because my mom (who was having some sort of minor surgery the next day) would "be too worried about me until I got home." As a parent now I get it, but I was PISSED at the time. T@3
