>>>Well, the Charlotte '72 reseed went so well, here's another! This is the first night of the Stones' Exile on Main Street tour.

This tape was seeded by weedwacker67 on September 10, 2010, and was removed from the tracker on November 19, 2013, after being snatched a whopping 1256 times. All thanks to weedwacker67, to Dave and Donn for taping, and to the others involved in getting this out to the trading community.

Notes:

JEMS is proud to be able to partner with and present some of the choice recordings in the D & D archives. Some of these recordings have been around for years but none of the master tapes or safety copies in some cases have ever been digitized until now.

Dave and Donn taped many shows in and around the Seattle area in the 70's and also were contemporaries of some of the JEMS members. Volume 3 captures the Rolling Stones on the opening night of their 1972 tour in support of their Exile On Main Street album. This recording was done on Dave's dads combo radio/tape recorder with Donn and Dave taking turns holding the mics and working the cassette deck.

This an excellent recording but a little heavy on the bass. This copy is from Dave's reels, the masters may or may not still exist. It is possible Donn may still have them but they couldn't be located at this time (Sept. 2010).

There were a lot firsts at this show this was the first time Rocks Off, Tumbling Dice, Happy, Torn And Frayed, Sweet Virginia, Ventilator Blues, All Down The Line and Rip This Joint were played in a live setting. This show is the only night of the tour that Torn And Frayed along with Ventilator Blues were played. Honky Tonk Women was also dropped from the set after this show to only show up at select shows as an encore. This is a great a high energy show if a little rough around the edges due to it being the opening night of the tour. The recording has been mastered for sonic enhancement.

I guess that DAC will release all three shows as IEM recordings. Empress Valley has announced audience sources for all three shows.

Dime is having issues with the new version of Utorrent , and if you are using the new version you will have problems with Dime torrents unless you revert back to an older version. With the old version , say 3.3 , you will get a dialog box when you try to start a new torrent download asking you if you want to upgrade to new version - just hit the 'NO' button.

It's not just Dime, we've had problems with uTorrent 3.4.1 on Electric Ladyland as well. There are a lot of people using it with no apparent problems but as swampy says, it's best avoided.

We continue to notice many users of newer µTorrent and Mainline BitTorrent clients experiencing severe problems. These problems include connection issues, issues with adding torrents, path issues, disk write issues and GUI issues. Users often don't notice the problems until they are in trouble.

Versions that are affected:

µTorrent 3.3.x
µTorrent 3.4.x
Mainline BitTorrent 7.8.x
Mainline BitTorrent 7.9.x

We recommend users of these versions switch to another client. The following clients are similar to µTorrent and are recommended to µTorrent users who want to switch:

Deluge 1.3
Qbittorrent 3.1
µTorrent 2.2.1 (mirror)

I don't mean to sound like a curmudgeon, but Vancouver 1972 is one of the worst gigs they ever played. Out of tune from start to finish & surprisingly raw, considering all the 'rehearsing' they did in Hollywood.

If only the out of tune guitars could be somehow jimmied to sound in tune I might be able to get through this one again.

The difference in the energy level between this gig and the first Seattle gig the next day is amazing.
