howdy -
i am trying to get hold of the complete .mogg multittrack archives of the DLC only police songs - ie 'can't stand', 'message', 'synch II', 'roxanne', 'truth hits'....
is anyone able to help or point me in the right direction?

so far i have found an 'all police tracks' archive but they only contain the bass + vocal tracks combined, bass track and guitar track. there should be complete multitrack versions, as per the above 'rock band' song list....

would really appreciate any help!

feel free to mail me at

This truly is one of the best finds in years. I mean, to me this track is a true revelation. This track is considered one of the best rock songs ever made, yet still it is plagued by bum notes, out of tune guitars, bad recording, bad guitar playing and bad editing. Still, all tracks together it yields a behemoth of a track.

Best things to me are the fact that the intro is just two guitars. I always thought there were three. Also I never heard how the second guitar finished the tremolo picking at the “A” chord. Also, the intro guitars are NOT played on the Maton. I just don’t believe it. This is the sound of an ebony board and PAF humbuckers –this is the LP Custom for sure.

Second thing to note is just how just terribly amateurish the solo guitars are played. Man, it sounds like that guy just picked up a guitar for the first time! Also, the editing is, looking back from the Protools era, incredibly crude. The playing and the editing would not be possible today, no engineer or producer would accept this kind of playing and editing.

It’s great to hear the vocals like this –I never heard Keith’s vocals right in between Jagger and Clayton, and I never heard Clayton’s vocals being so far on the edge and sometimes going just over it. Her singing truly sounds like a first take, and that’s fantastic.

Nevertheless its THE best rock song ever recorded.

Long live the amateurish playing!

Less spectacular than Gimme Shelter files, here's the Sympathy for the Devil 5.1 mix :

[www.megaupload.com] (120 Mo, slow download)

On a channel, MJ voice is isolated, and the guitar solo too (same channel)

You need Audacity to listen to all the channels.

I got it from the Rock Band game. it was a very long and difficult process. I don't think people have found out that they can do this yet. I'm working on getting Paint It Black from the Guitar Hero game, but it's different than Rock Band.

I also have multitracks for the following:

Aerosmith "Train Kept a Rollin'"
The Who "Won't Get Fooled Again"
Boston "Foreplay/Long Time"
Mountain "Mississippi Queen"
The Police "Next to You"
David Bowie "Suffragette City"
Black Sabbath "Paranoid"
Blue Oyster Cult "Don't Fear the Reaper"
The Ramones "Blitzkrieg Bop"
Deep Purple "Highway Star"
KISS "Detroit Rock City"
Molly Hatchet "Flirtin' With Disaster"
The Outlaws "Green Grass & High Tides"
Sweet "Ballroom Blitz"
Rush "Tom Sawyer"
Bon Jovi "Wanted Dead or Alive"
The Clash "Should I Stay or Should I Go"
Faith No More "Epic"
R.E.M. "Orange Crush"
Iron Maiden "Run to the Hills"*
Foo Fighters "Learn to Fly"
Metallica "Enter Sandman"
Nirvana "In Bloom"
Stone Temple Pilots "Vasoline"
Weezer "Say It Ain't So"
Smashing Pumpkins "Cherub Rock"
Radiohead "Creep"
Beastie Boys "Sabotage"
Hole "Celebrity Skin"
Garbage "I Think I'm Paranoid"
Soundgarden "Black Hole Sun"
The Hives "Main Offender"
Queens of the Stone Age "Go With the Flow"
The Strokes "Reptilia"
Jet "Are You Gonna Be My Girl"
OK Go "Here It Goes Again"
Nine Inch Nails "The Hand That Feeds"
Pixies "Wave of Mutilation"
Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Maps"
Red Hot Chili Peppers "Dani California"
Coheed & Cambria "Welcome Home"
Fallout Boy "Dead on Arrival"
The Killers "When You Were Young"
New Pornographers "Electric Version"

I'm working on getting Paint It Black from the Guitar Hero game, but it's different than Rock Band.

I wonder if akgameboy has managed to extracked Paint It Black from the Guitar Hero game ?

I extracted Paint It Black, but I've been really busy lately. You guys don't need mine though cause ghostryder13 put his up. I might be able to get a Sticky Fingers multi-track, but I'm still working on that.

akgameboy,
My name is Tim, I was wondering if it would be possible to get copies of all the rock band multi-tracks you have. Also, if you could possible explain again how you are getting those and what format they are in, that would be great too. Thanks

Tim

akgameboy,

Thanks for the updated link.

Is there anyway to get some of the files Munichhilton (May 19,2008 post) had given links to that where on mediafire? Obviously, these files are not availble now on the mediafire site anymore. Are there any of the files on the Rapidshare by chance? I tried to search the site but not very straight forward on the site.

For that matter, I would be happy to pay you for some of these files in the format like the 'Gimmie Shelter' file. I am specifically looking for the 'Master Recording' ones only. Your list is similar/if not the same as Munich's.

Thanks
RB

Here's a torrent link to all Rock Band multis:
[btjunkie.org]

I listened to multitrack Gimme Shelter for the first time today and I think it's really an amazing revelation like Mathijs said, how such a perfect song is created of so many imperfect parts. I think that's one of the problems with today's production, everything has to be so slick and clean...

This kind of stuff is great for studio recording insight but also for some homemade remixing fun and playing alongside your favorite bands. It would be great if Rock Band: The Rolling Stones came out, then I could cut Ronnie and Taylor out of the mix and become the 2nd Stones guitarist like it was always meant to be >grinning smiley<

If you dig around, there's complete multis for various Queen tracks, including Bohemian Rhapsody, plus random Motown, Beatles four-tracks etc etc. These didn't come from any Rock Band rip so I've no idea how they leaked onto the internet.

EDIT!! Looks like they're on Guitars101. The Nine Inch Nails board is also a good place to keep up to date with the latest discoveries.
